I asked myself the same question after watching it. I suspect Cramer sees the writing on the wall, and used this as an opportunity to "re-invent" his persona. I wouldn't be surprised to see a new show or format coming from him.

I get the impression that Cramer isn't exactly proud of of his "Mad Money" show, and probably gets teased about the show by his friends.

I seriously doubt Cramer (or any other Wall Street insider) really gives a damn anyway. So what if they're the whipping boys for the masses right now. Really, who cares? So they've lost some money and they're "off their peaks". Big flippin' deal. They've still gotten INSANELY wealthy by manipulating markets and by over-leveraging O.P.M. (Other Peoples' Money) for the last 10 years. I'm sure they're more than happy to let the unwashed masses grumble about them over their bowls of gruel and draw unflattering cartoons of them in their local rags. Go ahead! They'll just lie low and take advantage of the downtime to count their untold millions and billions, and to quietly buy up more stuff under networks of shell companies.

I doubt Cramer (or anyone else) really gives a flying fig about what the peons like you or I think. They're laughing all the way to the bank.

Now if people started REALLY holding them accountable - say, like was done during the French Revolution or the Bolshevik Revolution, then they might be quaking in their boots a bit. But now? Against our apathetic, pacifist, vapid, do-nothing populace? Pfft. Right. Throw 'em a couple new reality TV shows and in six months the average idiot out there will forget all about it anyway.

Cramer is the only stock tip show on TV AFAIK, and he is an entertainer, so I think his commercial success is not threatened by this.

Cramer, like Stewart, is a life-long Democrat and a vocal Obama supporter. According to what he stated in a radio interview I listened to, he gave $100,000 to the Democrat party, he believes in wealth re-distribution, but he just thinks Obama is pulling the trigger too early on it. This was no more than Cramer kneeling in the Democrat confessional booth. Stewart's audience laps this stuff up, not realizing it's all a setup.

Lets see...a guy lets another guy completely discredit him and what he does for a living, and discredit his employer, in front of a national audience, as a way to serve his life-long political masters. As a "cleansing of his sins?" Hey, is it tin foil hat time? Aren't you embarrassed to post this nonsense here, Curt? At least you could have posted this nonsense on PARF, where the other hate-mongering lapdogs could give you the proper Pavlovian response. Un-freaking-believable.

Cramer is a joke. Everyone in the biz knows it. His most useful aspect is his show comes on at 5:00 at work letting me know its all going to be over shortly.

slakjaw 03-15-2009 08:10 PM

PARF isnt all hate mongering you know...

Its also not a Stewart FUCH fest like this thread is.
