Jim Cramer on the Daily Show

Did anybody else see it? perhaps there's a link to it somewhere...

I have to admit, I was pretty surprised to see Cramer get undressed so badly.

Don Plumley 03-12-2009 08:00 PM

I've been watching this all week and am about to watch last nights show...

Porsche-O-Phile 03-12-2009 08:32 PM

Not up yet... I'll check back in a little while - no doubt this will be worth it.

I was hoping for some blood letting. Still, it was good to see Cramer (and by extension, the rest of the financial talking heads), get his ass hole reamed. Next time, John Stewart, I expect a real death match!

Jims show reminds me when I used to play those old pinball machines.

Jim Richards 03-13-2009 04:38 AM

back in the 40's?

I just watched it (DVR'd) since the ACC tourney was on last night :). I don't want to make this a PARF thread, but anyone who still blames this economic meltdown on the "low income subprime borrowers" should watch this segment imo. Cramer was as contrite as I've ever seen him, and he DOES know the inner workings of Wallstreet as good as (or better) than just about anyone. Everyone should remove their political blinders and watch imo. Unchecked greed, liars, and thievery by some VERY smart people screwed America and made untold millions in the process. Cramer's excuse/alibi in Reader's Digest version: "they lied to me"...well duh :(

Jim Richards 03-13-2009 05:10 AM

Keith, this thread is easily kept PARF-free, as it is economic and not political. Cramer is the poster-boy for the financial snake-oil sales industry.

Stewart spanked him pretty badly. Cramer just pussied out and admitted he was a douche. I loved it.

Porsche-O-Phile 03-13-2009 08:49 AM

Talk about getting one's ass handed to them.

Cramer has occasional nuggets of brilliance, but is largely just too much of a "typical Wall Street guy" - he talks with a silver tongue and revels in his own supposed brilliance when he gets it wrong WAY more often than he gets it right. Not to mention he flat-out lies. The guy wants to talk about regulation and how its everyone else's fault but has had a direct hand in the shennanigans and B.S. and behind-the-scenes games and everything else himself.

Can't say I felt terribly sorry for him. At least he seemed reasonably gentlemanly in his defeat.

slakjaw 03-13-2009 10:15 AM

John Stewart is a douche bag. I would like to strangle him with that gay yellow bracelet he wears.

pwd72s 03-13-2009 10:48 AM

from Cindy's financial website...never watched Jim Stewart, and laughed at Cramer. Watching this, I came away with the impression that both are better than I gave 'em credit for.

I have met Jon Stewart, and been at a couple of large dinner parties with him at the table. He is as funny in person as he is on screen. He regularly declines to change the format or extend the show's length. He says, "Why F with success?"

CJFusco 03-13-2009 11:47 AM

I just caught the extended interview online. Cramer just seems apologetic and submissive; Stewart walks all over him. It's painfully obvious that Jon is smarter, better prepared, and, most importantly, right.

Stewart didnt make any prediction. Its pretty easy to be right when all you do is point at others after the fact. The guy is a douche bag, he is not funny. he is retarded.

I dont like Cramer either. A search with cramer and my name will prove that.

juanbenae 03-13-2009 02:53 PM

it seemed cramer was let in on the grainy video the DS dug on him being a scum weasle before he even sat down. i am just not sure he knew what scummy video of him they had, & the one they found was very telling of the real cramer. . he was bashed all week and last night just was the cherry topper.

and slakjaw, not his job to make predictions, he is not paid to make them. he is paid to make us laugh, think a bit, and i enjoy the show to no end. he did earn his money last night though. SJ you'd prolly be happier returning to PARF to wallow in the bitterness that is so common there. we here in the vanilla OT section most do not miss many of you and the hate of everthing that seems to really float yer boats over there. this is a better place with you guys all in PARF purgatory. good day to you sir!

i loved the close of the show too, where jon states something like, "i wonder if that was as uncomfortable to watch as it was to sit through at this desk".... good TV, and cramer just might be done. how could msnbc bring him back after that dressdown?

What kind of douche bag would call Jon Stewart a douche bag?

"retarded"?

slakjaw 03-13-2009 03:07 PM

I don't like the DS so I state my opinion and get flamed for it. Am I not allowed to not like Stewart?

Awesome! Thanks guys!

jyl 03-13-2009 05:52 PM

I find both Cramer and Stewart entertaining.
