Keep in mind that HijackThis doesn't clean anything - it just reports what is running in your computer in the log. It's up to the user to interpret.

If HijackThis came up clean, then it's very unlikely you have a piece of malware and you're back to the other options mentioned. I think you said that you are using the google browser. I don't have any experience with it - read the eula and found it completely unacceptable from a privacy/security standpoint, so never installed it. Check your browser settings - you may have inadvertently told it to bring up a batch of bookmarked pages automatically, or perhaps google is "helping" you.
