Piloti shoes
I was wondering if anybody has worn either the Piloti Prototipo or Speedway as an everyday shoe? Are they comfortable, durable?
I have heard nothing but good things about the more serious driving shoes Thanks ![]() ![]()

They are very comfortable, pretty much like wearing sneakers. I've had the same pair for over two years now so I guess they're pretty durable too.

Was Piloti started by someone we might know? Maybe in SoCal?

I love'em as everyday shoes... Super comfortable, great for driving and walking...
And yes, there are models such as those pictured above that don't cry out for attention (look at me, I'm a racing driver ;-) Very good shoes... |

Just got mine and love em. Price was right. I got the blk/orange combo and it looks good. As noted, not too flashy. Never owned a pair and always wanted to.

I have a pair of black/red/yellow Mulholland II's and wear them frequently at home, out and about, or even to work every now and then. I find them super comfortable. Don't know about durability as I've only had them about six months. They don't show any signs of wearing out soon.

Milt - This is copied from the Piloti website:
Fangio, Moss, Gurney, Hill, Bondurant, McLaren: These names are synonymous with auto racing. They are winners and daring people who have a passion for cars and success. These are the drivers Piloti founder, Kevin A. Beard, followed as he developed his own passion for racing. Yes, Kevin was a gear-head hot-rodder in his youth. In 1999, he began working on something he always wanted to do: Create a line of authentic driving shoes that would not only be innovative in how they perform in fierce racing conditions, but also stylish and comfortable enough for the street. His passion became known as Piloti. Piloti is Italian for "racing drivers". No truer expression could be found for Kevin's shoes. Using his background in biomechanics and design, he created a shoe that uses an exclusive, patented Roll Control™ heel technology, Nomex® fire-resistant lining, reinforced heel-&-toe areas, tough double row stitching, and an outer sole reminiscent of the racing tread pattern used in the 50's. His designs are icons to the glory days when he watched drivers streak around the tracks at Sebring and LeMans. By taking this racing legacy and adding Kevin's technological ideas, Piloti helped resolve comfort and performance issues for today's NASCAR, Sports Car and Rally drivers such as Robby Gordon, Scott Pruett and Colin McRae. Now Piloti has a line of shoes designed especially for car enthusiasts, rally junkies, and street rodders. (Hint: You don't have to rip around a 32 percent banked turn at 200 mph to enjoy your Piloti Driving Shoes.) Piloti's Touring line of shoes uses all the performance features in the racing shoes-just sans the Nomex®. These shoes are enjoyed by the likes of Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld, and Chad McQueen-even the members of Aerosmith. Maybe you know him. Best, Tom

Langers,
They do have size 14 and 15 in some shoes, but I had a hard time finding them. I ordered directly from the Piolit web site. Not sure how easy that will be for you, shipping and all. See if they have a local distributor. Jay

I was looking a pair of 13s at Ross the other day ($20!!)
They had a pair of 14s that were a bit too large for me. They were the Prototipo - black with yellow.
