Watchmen - Great Movie... Except for the Anti-944 Violence!

Did anyone else catch this? That poor 944!

There was a riot scene, and several thugs were trashing it, setting it on fire and beating it with a baseball bat like it was a 997 parked at the Meadowlands.

It might be a 924S, but it looked like it had a 944 front valance?

Oh, come on - the NA944 is a joy to own. The 951, however fun to drive it may be, can be a serious PITA.

True that. It was bittersweet. Yes, losing the car sucked but honestly I found myself with a WHOLE lot more free time and extra cash after it turned into a pile of soot.

It was a 924, and there were far far more disturbing things in this movie. It was a good opportunity for me to tease the 924S owner that I saw the movie with though.

Yes, even though I have read the graphic novel, I was surprised by how graphic the movie was. The action was very violent/gory, and the sex scenes were practically soft-core. Still, the most important part of the movie were the ideas that drove the story.

No but I have an unlucky "step cousin" that while on the way to the shop for a timing belt/water pump in his early '85 had it snap and, well, you all know there interference motors.

THEN, had a 951 and the fuel line recall wasn't done, and he knew about it. While at a bar in Georgetown trying to pick up this girl, he noticed that everyone ran to the window and the car that he was bragging about was in flames.

THEN years later he got a 968 cab. Again new it needed a t-belt service and still driving it, it snapped while an uncle was driving it around the block at a family get together.

Unlucky? Foolish? A little of both, but still kinda' funny.

^EVER?! I doubt that. I can name about 20 that you would think are worse, just off the top of my head: Santa With Muscles, Kid Geniuses, The Spirit, Manos: the Hands of Fate, Mitchell, Pod People, Halloween III: The Season of the Witch, Jason X, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: Turtles in Time, Terminator 3, anything starring Steven Segal, Time Chasers, Overdrawn at the Memory Bank, Snake Eyes... I can keep going on, if you want...

I think the only one in your list I have seen was the Turtles. I just thought Watchmen had a lot of unnecessary scenes in it. It was long and the plot wasnt that great. To each their own tho.
