hi beams, i hate um.
some yahoo pulled in behind me this morning, had his H beams on. i couldnt see crap. had to hold my hand over the side mirror to block the rays. here in the south you might be a redneck if you think your hi beams are a spare set of lights when the lows burn out.
even with the crapy lows on my truck, i very rarley use my hi beams. even in the day time people around drive around with the hi beams on. maybe my eyes are just getting more sensetive or the more it bugs me the more i notice.

Let 'em pass, or install a "back up light".

Weird, I get occasional high beams around here, but not all of the time. I do notice that newer cars are usually brighter than older cars.
How are your side view mirrors adjusted? When you look at each one do you see the side of your car or maybe just not quite see the side of your car? That's how most folks set their side view mirrors and how I used to set them. Based on something that I saw online, I adjust them differently now. It eliminates blind spots big enough for anything to fit in and helps with headlights from behind. http://www.smartmotorist.com/car-accessories-fuel-and-maintenance/adjusting-your-mirrors-correctly.html Here's the functional part of that link Quote:
Besides the above benefit, bright headlights (especially from trucks/SUVs) aren't a problem any more. The rear view mirror can be dimmed, and for the headlights to show up in the side view mirrors, the car is in a position that the lights don't seem as bright when they line up with the mirrors.

I almost drove to work with my high beams on this morning. Some jerk (who's probably at this moment writing in a thread in his knitting forum about the jerk behind him) sat in the left lane and went the exact speed of the guy in the right lane on my commute this morning. So I sat a few feet off his bumper all the way to work. Why can't people get off their hall monitor kick and get the F out of the way!

I also think there's nothing wrong with giving folks a little "nudge". ![]()

Once I had a car move into the slow lane after I flashed my high beams one time.

i lower my passenger vanity mirror. watch the reflection of the light go down the headliner till it hits the back window. with minor jiggling, you can laser beam his eyes. set on "stun" of course.
well correction. i used to do this. now i am not so agro.

When my 911 got wrecked, it had 55/100w H4's. My next one will have 100/130w bulbs. They will be pointed properly so that oncoming traffic and motorists in front of me will not be bothered by them. Unless of course, I feel the need to 'communicate' with them.
