It's not so much a virus or worm, but exploits on the Mac. The latest one broke into a new fully patched system in 10 seconds (Owned). It was initiated by going to a link in Safari....

All you'd really need is the same exploit on a facebook page or something else.....

Well, actually OSX is setup to require administrative permission to install or run a program, so the user has to be somewhat complicit in screwing up his computer. Real vulnerabilities have been found and patched before going 'in the wild.'

BTW, the exploit referred to above is in relation to an annual contest. You can read about it if you like. It's not a worm or virus. http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/09/03/19/mac_security_researcher_wins_pwn2own_contest.html

Remember, OSX is an Apple-proprietary version of FreeBSD, which had been pounded on in academia for years before Apple incorporated it.

Also: someone on a newsgroup I'm on has a verified conficker infection. He cannot access the web with any applications on his own cpu.
