Hey Targa.

Do you drink coffee when at a gig?

I used to have the bartenders make a pot for me on nights during the week as I had to work the next day. People thought I was all sorts of odd for doing that.

Used to keep the pot right on my drum riser.:D

Yeah I do. I had my bout with that demon alcohol 25 years ago. Musicians and booze don't mix for me. My drummer drinks coffee too. Sometimes I drink too much and it constricts my blood vessels so I get a cramp in my hands/fingers. When we were doing 2 hr. sets I used to eat a lot of bananas for the potassium. It helps with cramps. Now if I could just find something for the arthritis that is creeping in on my playing.

Interestingly, I just started a couple of years ago, at 47 years-old. Funny, I always knew I would start some day. I have always loved the smell & I love the whole coffee shop thing.

I drink about 1-2 cups a day & I really enjoy it. I fill a mug every morning for my 45-minute-commute, but I never drink it at work. On weekends I will have some in the morning (like tomorrow morning while watching a tape of F1 qualifying) & I often have a cup mid-afternoon.

I generally drink Starbucks that I grind each evening, although lately I have been enjoying Peets. I think I prefer Peets, but it is a little harder to find.

I really enjoy my coffee.

I'm 36, and just started drinking coffee a few years ago. We had a huge project at work and I was working 12 - 14 hours a day 7 days a week for nearly 6 moths. We had an endless supply of coffee sitting just behind me in the "war room" and I finally gave in about 2 months into the project. I now pay hommage to the coffee gods at least twice a day, during the week. It's become too much a part of the routine, but I'd prefer to be caffiene free again. Not so much because of the caffiene, but it has dramatically increased my sugar (honey actually) intake.

I try coffee every few months and cant only take it with lots of cream, lots of sugar. I'd much rather have a diet coke.

I still remember the day, I was 12 or 13 ( 7th grade) I remember my Mom telling me if I was going to drink it I could only have milk and no sugar.. Now I know why, she didn't ever want the experience of picking up the wrong cup and having that sugar hit you like it was cough medicine... Pretty funny, been drinking it like that ever since..

I was in the Army, and in Germany in the middle of the winter. The coffee was the only thing that was warm! It was a survival thing then. More of an addiction now...
