well as we all know
we need more pirates to reverse global warming |
sketchy on details..but..
seems some of the pirates walked the plank.. crew is fighting back.. Rika |
I heard a similar tale some decades back...a Turkish cargo ship...Turks annoyed with piracy. One surviving pirate was allowed to go home...so he could tell what happened to the others.
|
The US crew retook the ship, but the skipper is being held hostage.

Arrggggggh the romance of being a pirate. Arrrrggggggghh

Four, count them, 4, frigging small ass punks took this ship. How in the hell they let this happen is beyond me. Oh, the crew didn't have any weapons. Well next time HAVE SOME FRICKING WEAPONS and learn how to use them! How in the hell they can climb us this big-ass ship without being noticed is another question. What a mess the State Dept. is in now with a hostage.

How do they get on these ships? Very easy, a grappling hook and rope up the side. 20 crew; a few cooks, some engineers, stewards-none of these crew see the light of day. A few officers and lookouts- probably only 2 people on the bridge at a time unless you are in a high traffic area. Ship is how long? If you saw the small boat approach, by the time you got down on to the deck and walked to where ever they are boarding you may as well greet them with a cup of coffee because they are going to be standing there with an AK pointed at you. I am sure almost all of thee ships are unarmed. Going into any EU port with weapons is not easy. These guys do not have a choice but to accommodate the pirates, they know they are not going to get hurt plus they are not trained or equipped to put up a fight. This is not something that is going to be fixed easily. As soon as shots start getting fired it is going to get very dangerous for the seamen. It is also said there are 250 or so seamen being held in Somalia now, going in and bombing the place will not help these guys. This is not a simple fix. Not that I agree with how it has been handled so far.

They really, really, really do need to start arming these crewmen.
But the ins. companies won't touch them from what i've heard. |

Look, a couple of BHO's tax collectors! ;)
"Arrrrgh, what's in yer wallet!" |
Finally some action out of the Obama administration, Hillary is "deeply concerned" about pirates. This could lead to Obama indirectly condemning the actions of these pirates, while admitting it was the sailors and shipping company who are to blame, then apologizing to someone. Maybe Obama should sit down with these pirates? He could take Carter along.

Why didn't the crew make up a few molotov cocktails to drop into the pirates boat when they got the grappling hook on the gunwhale? Heck, just heat up the fryolator and dump the oil onto the guys as they climbed onto the boat? Funny that the crews have no arms... I wonder the amount of illicit cargo carried on any container ship on any day? |

Sometimes so many thoughts run through your head it's better to be quiet. It sure is apparent that an American flagged ship means nothing to them. I wonder why?

Most of these pirates fire at the ships with small arms to keep the unarmed crews' heads down with they grapple and board. They also usually have a rocket launcher to, at very least, destroy the bridge should the crew try to resist.
Crews are instructed to use the ship's fire house to thwart a boarding, but the reality is that they can't get close to the fire hoses as the pirates are shooting at them. |

This just in! The U.S. has opted to finally join direct talks with the pirates.
