Got other hobbies? Got pics?

Went on another bike ride yesterday. Lots of hills. That's me, second from the right. I ride and run but still I'm fat. Must be the nachos.

I'm hoping to get back into sailing one of these days.

Powerboat racing. Me on the right.

My other big hobby. I play with trains. Models and real ones. I volunteer at a tourist railroad here in NJ. This is a boiler I am rebuilding. It is from a 2-6-0 Porter steam locomotive. Hopefully we will have it back on the tracks by next spring.

Heres the loco back in '98 when it last ran.

Saying this is a hickey would have served you so much better.

Have enjoyed slot racing in the garage.
Track is 20x45, takes up a 4 car garage.
Pretty sure I could get my arm full with a smaller track.

Woah... Ted... nice track. Did you build it yourself, or buy & rehab an old commercial layout?

I would probably be showing slot racing as a hobby if my buddy's 50 foot 3-lane routed track wasn't almost an hour away. Several guys show up every Thursday night to race on it and he's got computer lap timing/counting, but I haven't joined in yet.

The only thing that qualifies as a hobby for me at this point is my collection of diecast cars. It's fairly substantial, but I'm so non-serious about it, it barely qualifies. I basically only buy what I like, when I can find it relatively cheap, and with no regard to value. Mostly race cars, mostly 1/43rd and 1/18th, and I don't save the boxes and mounting bases. I never have it all displayed... no room. Usually just have 10-20 out on top of a chest.

Don't have any photos... found this pic on ebay... it's one I have... 1/18th scale.

I used to race 12th scale radio control cars.

Here's where the slot track was built.

I love to waterski (slalom), snow ski and sled. Can't read enough books either. If I was gonna name one big hobby of mine, it would be my family. I just love the time I spend with them. Easter Dinner yesterday was awesome!
Cheers,
