Henry's Barrels are Done.

Some of you remember the thread I did on removing the dents from these barrels. here they are freshly rust blued and without the dent.

The dented area...

Rather than refinish the damascus barrels after consultation I decided to just deep clean them with 0000 wool and good oil to bring the beautiful pattern out and preserve the wonderful patina.

Thanks Henry. I hope you like these. It was fun to do them for you. I hope the rest enjoyed the ride.

Thanks everybody. Those damascus barrels are stunning in person. I didn't have to do much but try to match the worn areas. Another day in the shop. Havin' fun.

Yes it sure is. I don't have the whole gun, just the barrels. Maybe Henry will post pics when he gets the barrels back.

Nice work Targa.

On damascus barrels the entire assembly would be made of damascus steel parts. Top rib, left barrel, right barrel, bottom rib. Most commonly the barrel hooks or lugs would be made of normal steel and dovetailed into the bottom of the barrels. All parts soft soldered together.
