Long Beach Grand Prix

Did anyone go ? I think the Indy Cars are better looking than F1 ( granted not as high tech).
Danica didn't do too bad for starting last and ending in 4th.. Sometimes it's better to be lucky, but she did turn some pretty fast lap times and didn't make any errors..

I went both days. Today my wife and I hung out on a third flour balcony overlooking the back straight and had a great time watching the Indy cars fly by. We had a great view of not only the back straight, but also the last three corners, including the final hairpin. Beer, wine, food, noise and friends! It was awesome. My wife had such a good time, she wants to come back next year.

I did ALMS only. Small field but enjoyed it anyway. Only complaint is that they gave me parking that was about a mile away from my seats. What's up with that?

I think the IRL was a big success in the LB. Most of the attendees don't know whether the cars are turbo or not anyway. I was a good race on TV where I sheltered myself form the record 97 degree heat.

One thing though, they need to widen the track in a few places for the opportunity to drive a different line. And, they need to tell freakin' Marco Andretti that the hairpin is not one of those places to pass. Dumbest driver in the series along with Ed Carpenter, the rolling brick.
