"Spinner" Hubcaps

Whatever happened to spinner hubcaps? I don't see them around any more.

I see them around town every now and again, but I do live in Philly.

I hope they were recycled. There has got to be a lot of crap metal in 20"+ spinners.

I still very occasionally see them. I've seen a set in the last 1-3 months on an Escalade or Expedition or something like that.

Most of them were crap and have worn out. Not to mention, the real thing (spinner wheels) were so expensive that I suspect most folks rented them rather than bought them, but I could be wrong.

That looks weird. Like the car is scatting on ice or something.

Rolls Royce have small center caps that turn upright after you stop the car but these are all together different.
