Got mine done last October. Bag of frozen peas, a day on the couch... no problem!

VINMAN 05-01-2009 04:56 AM

Obviously the key to a successful recovery is the frozen peas.

Just a note; I found it works better if you keep the peas in the bag...........

rcecale 05-01-2009 05:42 AM

Well, I've learned at least ONE thing today! If I ever have the occasion to have dinner with any of you guys in your home, I'm damn sure not gonna eat the peas!

I was prepared for the worst - it was pretty much a non-event. I had the no-incision procedure - didn't even need a bandaid afterwards.

As recommended, I did take it easy for a day or two. Even when sitting down and standing back up - you want to take it easy and not cause too much movement on things down there.

Hold your closed right hand in front of you, point the with the index finger, stick out the thumb at a 90 degree angle... now put the back of your hand against your forehead...

Thanks guys for sharing your experiences, my wife has been looking for a cooking sherry for a while and she brings home this last night-of course the jokes started to fly.

The heightened dementia risk is for real. Nothing to sneeze at. Do a search. Here a link:

I have seen many seemingly stable marriages break apart. Not seldom that the guy was shooting blanks and then found himself trying to start a new family with a younger wife down the road. Unless you are over 50 and are sure you will not want kids any more, I'd wait.

I could not help but notice that women know exactly about the above dilemma for vasectomized men. I would never put myself in such a position, even in the best marriage. In a divorce the wife usually will keep the kids and you will be left holding the bag. ;)

Finally, everyone is aware that the same procedure is available for women and can be done during a C section birth without any additional hassle? Make sure you consider this as well.

Just my two cents ...

OK....my pre-nuptial agreement with the wife was 3 kids.....subject to mutual agreement to further procreation. After twin girls and another girl, 30 months later I exercise my option....quit while I was ahead.....

Went in to have the deed done......pre op of 20mg Valium. Disrobed, got on the table and two Betties came and proceeded to strap on rubber bands and other accoutrements.....and then.....I waited.......*******operating room was cold.....we're talking major shrinkage.....

Then I hear this douchebagurologist discussing a golf date on the phone next door....waiting....waiting.....he comes in and the old golf bag has taken a run for the border.....the Betties come back....still ******* cold but they are armed with warm hot towels....the V20 is still clicking....

Golf douche comes back and talks about making a bigger cut and hunting around for the Vas Deferns or something to that matter....I gots up and told him I needed to get my .357 from the car.....godddammned HMOs.... I still see this guy at Church and he turns around and won't talk to me....he acts like I impregnated his wife or something.....I didn't ACTUALLY shoot him...just threatend to wound him.

They threw the protection order out of court. Probation was only 18 months....no biggie....god I hate golfers....

The second time, it went cool....except the wife called me a wimp, so I made pea soup and then went out and pulled an engine on a 914.....

Well all done, took 15 minutes in the office but almost a week of recovery! I was working on my 72T restoration everyday which really aggravated things, swelling etc. They should give guys a license for their wallets when they are done with this, kinda like a license to screw; you know what I mean?

To me making a mess with my soldiers is a big chunk of the fun. :)

The prostrate is the gland responsible for the seminal fluid. The testes produce the sperm. After a vasectomy, you still produce sperm and , of course, the fluid. The sperm just don't get to their destination.

Well, actually, they can. A vasectomy is not 100%, but it's 99 point something.

AFA your post, you do have a way with words.

A story about getting the vas. I had to got to a meeting where they went thru all the ramifications and tried to make sure that this is what you wanted to do. It is rather permanent. Reconnection is dicey and very expensive.

Right in the middle of said presentation, this dude passes out. I mean totally on the floor. He sch!t has pants. It was a scene. Luckily it was a Kaiser in the hospital itself. The medics came and got the guy and wheeled him away. I bet he didn't make (get) the cut!

I did and it was fine. Ice for the rest of the day and a shot of Jack later on.

pavulon 06-03-2009 06:29 PM

Posted this before but mine was mucho oucho...and the guy is my friend and co-worker...thought he put 'em in a clamp and then ran across the room and jumped out the window....wanted to puke or die...talked to another guy that had the same experience as me in the same place....sheesh.

aigel 06-03-2009 07:09 PM

"Congratulations"! ;)

Reason it is a one way street is that your body will develop antibodies towards your own sperm. So even when you connect things up again, it won't be the same as before. Of course you can still scrape something off your testicles and have an artificial insemination, if you are so inclined. :D

After a week my nuts felt fine, but a little weird for a month or two and then it was all back to normal.

Fishman7 06-26-2009 12:30 PM

A quick update which everyone will find ironic, the vas went well and I am now recovered but we found out on Saturday my wife is pregnant! Thats right somehow one slipped by and we are going to have another baby after deciding not to. It is all good though, we are happy about it and can't wait to have another little one wandering around.

Rikao4 06-26-2009 12:47 PM

congrats..
this is quite common..
you continue to shoot lead for some time ..
unprotected action is a no no for at least 30 days..
most Dr's require a 'clean sample' before giving the ..
all clear..

That kid is destined to be a legendary running back or receiver, doncha think?

If it turns out it's a boy, I mean.

If it's a girl... legendary basketball or soccer player, maybe?

Heh heh.

Are y'all sure this one slipped by after the vas? If so, was it after they checked to make sure no more sperm were present?

aigel 06-27-2009 01:43 PM

You can get the doc to pay for alimony. It has been done. Not sure if they don't have disclaimers nowadays to prevent this.

Congrats on the pregnancy. :)
