I just pulled a 3" hair off the top of my ear!

how do ya miss something like that? How long does a hair take to grow anyway?

I noticed this while I was looking over my new Rennshift Shifter for my SC.

I get those now and again. Also 2 renegade eyebrow hairs that are like tree stumps.

Seems they just pop up over night.

Maybe that explains the look my wife gives me when I'm in the bathroom. The excess body hair is not the turn on I think it is.

I think the norm is 1/2" per month, so 3" would take 6 months. An errant weirdly long hair isn't unusual. I've found a couple over the years, usually they're super-fine and practically invisible. 3" ear hair, I don't know about that.

I saw Bill Cosby perform about 10 years ago. He was talking about spotting a big ear hair in the mirror after a formal dinner party. Said to it "How long have you been there?" Then he replied on the hair's behalf proudly "All evening!"

Kemo:

I am laughing because I have been there too. I have long hair, so I don't think an ear hair can really be spotted by someone else.

As we age, a good magnifying mirror in the bathroom becomes a must. I know my eyes just are not what they used to be. I also know I grow hair on my ears and even on my nose. My only defense is the magnifying mirror and a good pair of tweezers.

Barber or wife should see this before it gets that long. Do you have long hair? That may have covered it .... Also, do you need glasses? I am no vane guy, but I could not miss that on my ear.

3" isn't far from the world record, I think:

I think ear and back hair grows at a much more rapid rate than regular head hair. I can manscape my shoulders one day and find a 1" long hair the next morning. It's like the scene in the movie The Fly when Jeff Goldblum is sprouting his enormous back hairs...

Hair in weird places - what they don't teach you about aging.
