How sad

Someone at some point in history thought this was a good idea.
I wonder were these people are today?

Post up what you think is the current equivalent....

This is a difficult situation. You can't drive under the influence, but you'd have to be on something to have you believe it's a real Porsche.

Lighten up, it's not a clone, it's just in fun. Sense of humor, anyone?

It does show that the gene pool is the same. The fact that someone could do this is evidence of that.

Oh...I just love it! In fact, I think I will start search for a body kit to turn the Porsche into a Bug.

Sweet H4s. I actually thought it was probably done in good fun. I'd drive it around for laughs! Chop it and it would look EVEN BETTER!

I suppose some people have "hobbies." I know years ago I put the 911 hood indent into a VW hood. I didn't think I was trying to suggest a 911 though. Maybe I did that car.

There is none unless it's that photoshopped 911 that looks like a midget.

It's deeper than that.
I remember seeing an ad in JC whitless when I was a youngster advertising kits like that one. I was just a kid and still knew it was a stupid idea.

Someone spent allot of time, effort, and money to try and make that bug look like a 930 and they missed. Big time. It is sad because someone worked really hard and failed miserably. This was not done as a joke, it was a serious attempt. Someone saw an add, checked it out, ordered it and paid good money for it, and actually tried their best to build it.
The concept is all wrong, the quality of the build is horrible, the quality of the kit is worse.
This is representative of people who decide to do things that simply shouldn't be done. Either because it's beyond their capabilities or it's just a really dumb idea, it's just wrong.

The irony is that the Beetle is more like the Grampa, the 356 would be the daddy and the 911 the prodigal son. The ol' Bug just wants to stay hip like his grandson!

This is obviously the result of excessive inbreeding... the Bastard Beetle!

Yeah...I looked at it that way...unlike a fake rolex, this was done in fun.

C'mon, everybody knows Beetles come in for every kind of conversion. It's not because somebody thinks they're fooling anybody, it's because it's fun. If you really wanted to "clone" a 930 on the cheap, you'd start with a 912. You want to go for laughs, you start with a Beetle. Does anybody *really* think the guy who did this thought it could pass for a Rolls:
