We made Frontline
And gladly not in a lurid expose ;-)
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/digitalnation/view/military.html 2nd and 4th vignettes are all our organization. Some of our technologies are in the other bits. |

Very Cool Dr. Todd.

I have a couple of other things going as well like embedding cultural annotations into artificial intelligence environments so that simulations can easily include cultural aspects. And other stuff is in the pipeline or percolating. Always looking for the next interesting project. I love my job. Even when it drives me crazy. |
Well done Todd. A very worthy project.

Nice work Todd.
Steve |
Steve, got your PM. The production company I've hired for this has things covered but I'm always looking to add to the rolodex.
IEDs are the leading combat related cause of death for our warfighters. Unfortunately the training they get is limited, and for those that have never been in-theater, they often don't get to experience any of this until it is too late. Our goal is to give them the knowledge they need, a safe way to practice, and try to train up the "sixth sense" that experienced warfighters have. The first 90 days are the most lethal downrange. We're trying to shorten that number (ideally to 0). And we have a few tricks up our sleeves on how we approach it ;) |
they have some interesting way's to train combat medics..
your doing more than going work .. your doing something good.. Rika |
Cool stuff. My little brother is working on a video game design bachelors at DeVry, I think he's hoping to get into something related to military VR/simulations.
|
Thanks Todd
Not only are you doing great work it is the way of the future for all entertainment. It must be nice to be leading in a very exciting business, not to mention helping save peoples lives! Steve |
They have some interesting ways of training medics....
Are you talking about the medical simulation training at Army Institute of Research & National Capital Area Medical Simulation Center, at the Walter Reed Annex? They had a training scenario I saw two years ago for medics evacuating under fire that was very well done. We just work on the medical end, with robotic patients and training techniques, but the Virtual Reality ideas and training scenarios there were first rate. Bravo, Todd! |
Congratulations Todd!
Operation Flashpoint1, which I think VBS2 is based on, was a landmark in outdoor combat sim development: One shot kills, walk/run/crawl/climb, drive, fly, huge enviroments, massive international mod community, etc... A little experience goes a long way http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1241709984.jpg |
Thanks for the kind words but frankly it is the least I can do. I am constantly in awe of those that serve and the sacrifices that they make.
We are using VBS2 for the current project. I'm also getting well acquainted with FM 7-8, especially Chapter 4 ;) |
What role does your company play with the drones?
|
well this light yrs from my suture trng.
first a rubber crutch handle, pig's foot , goat lab, lots of ER, and then a sucker..opps I meant drunk human. then the real stuff.. Rika |
U better put the smell of war in there to.
