"touchtable" Technology
Amazing stuff by Google...Big brother is indeed here. Wat until the middle of the video at least. See backdated images from Iran, their "research facility"...

Thanks for the direct link...shows how techno I am...not at all! $59,000? Hell, think I'd rather have a touchtable than a Boxster!

Yeah, I found that kind of amusing. "Works like a real pool table"? Sure it does...
NOT! Naw, I'd want one so I could snoop on EVERYBODY!

I think I'll get one! Very cool.
I wonder if "ERS" is a public company.

You could buy one now for $59,000, or wait a couple of years and get a better, faster version for 2 grand.
Remember the big rush to get an i-phone? People just had to have one. Some folks waiting a little while and were rewarded. The price always comes down on new tech stuff, but some folks don't care. They like paying the "look how cool I am" tax. |

ESRI is *the* player in GIS.
You can get a 42" touch overlay (for an LCD or Plamsa) for around $4K. We are putting one in our cIED training system. In our case we are using the touch screen as interface to the game engine. Forget this though - just go straight to gestures without any screen. We have one of these systems set up at the Interactive Media division: http://oblong.com/ |
