Vintnge WW1 rotation engine
The son of my grandfather's brother, (great uncle of mine, or what do you call that relation), is a technical high school teacher..And a WW1 historic buff.
They were in posession of an original Rhone 9c Rotation engine.. So he and his pupils made up a 1:1 replica of the plane the engine came out of, a Morane Saulnier Parasol Type L, the plane used by Guynemer to score his first victory, the first of many. And they got the engine running again.. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/9Dg2humx6N0&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/9Dg2humx6N0&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> http://users.telenet.be/geert.woussen/morane%20saulnier/Morane%20Saulnier%20Parasol%20L.html |
His students are very fortunate young men and women.
That is the most interesting project, well executed. Thanks for posting...the pictures taken during the build are great. |

Cool video... don't have time to google right now, but it's amazing to see the cylinders rotate as well. How's that engine work?
