Vintnge WW1 rotation engine

The son of my grandfather's brother, (great uncle of mine, or what do you call that relation), is a technical high school teacher..And a WW1 historic buff.

They were in posession of an original Rhone 9c Rotation engine..

So he and his pupils made up a 1:1 replica of the plane the engine came out of, a
Morane Saulnier Parasol Type L, the plane used by Guynemer to score his first victory, the first of many. And they got the engine running again..

His students are very fortunate young men and women.

That is the most interesting project, well executed. Thanks for posting...the pictures taken during the build are great.

Cool video... don't have time to google right now, but it's amazing to see the cylinders rotate as well. How's that engine work?

Here's a link.
