The bicycle a 6-5+ guy might ride...
![]() It's probably like drafting behind a moving van. ![]()

That is one BIG frame... Man. 66 cm? Something like that?
At least he's out riding. I hope those are strong wheels. The thought of a 6'-6"-ish guy (who's probably weighing in at around 240 or so) cornering hard at 30 mph makes me cringe. Bad things could happen really quickly if someone like that didn't have some tough wheels and a lot of confidence in them being built right.

+1 on the wheel build.
Most wheels are NOT designed for a person over 200lbs. Wheel failure = ugly crash, typically at speed.

Agreed on wheel build.
I did a road race that had a long steep downhill that crossed over I-15 with a 4 lane bridge. The transition from road to bridge on the right shoulder was sharp... 2"+ inches of concrete higher than the asphalt road surface. That was 15+ years ago and I can still clearly hear the carnage of 4-5 riders suffering massive wheel failure while going 40+ mph. Luckily I had rode the course the week prior and knew to stay left at the bridge. Ugly stuff. |

One my riding buddies is a former college and pro center, 6-4 and like 240. He's broken several frames. Drafting behind him is like riding behind a semi. I've watched him go down Mt. Lemmon, Mt. St. Helens, and passes around Rainier at 40+ mph.
