My new (used) truck:

Or, what $14k buys on eBay these days:

2005 F-250 4X4 diesel, one owner w/ 62k miles, still under factory engine warrantee until 12/09. (5 years/100k miles).

Did you buy that? With that front end damage? Looks like more than just the bumper. The hood seems out of alignment. Hmmm...

Front end damage? It's a truck for God's sake! That just adds character to it.

Looks like a nice truck Denis.

Looks like you are ready to roll.

With a truck I don't get upset over being "kissed" like I would with my Porsche. Enjoy your invincibility and put those little sticky convex mirrors on for the blind spot most trucks seem to have.

I parked at a street meter in downtown Ann Arbor for a couple of hours, when I came back I noticed this.

No sweat, it's a truck.

Nice buy. That was a $42K+ truck just a few years ago.

The hood is perfect. Weird comment...

It needs a bumper, ~$200 and plentiful on ebay. It was a one owner truck bought and used by an older guy who lived on a ranch in Ventura Co. He died and it was an estate sale. It was definitely used as a truck; he apparently hunted with it and used it on his ranch to haul crap in the back. The bed is well-scraped, (no bed liner), and the front bumper looks like a case of "whiskey bottle/brand new truck/oak tree, (and anything else), you're in my way..."

He was not a girly-man when it came to trucks and was definitely not saving it for the next owner. That said, it's really not bad. He seems to have kept-up w/ maintenance although no records exist. They don't know where he wrote it down. It's had zero dealer/warrantee-related issues and runs perfectly, only thing it's been back for is a recall/service bulletin issue in '06. I'm still cleaning red dust from every cranny of it but it's 100 times newer and cleaner than any PU truck I've ever had. The interior is close to perfect, much too nice for a painter's truck. Not sure what I'm going to do about that, don't want to wreck it.

I'm in the process of *base-lining* all the scheduled maintenance, basically changing all fluids and filters and starting a new calender. It's on a 7500/15000/30k factory schedule, so @ 62k miles it works out perfectly. 7500 is just an oil change w/ fuel filters every 15k.

And yep, $42k it was 4 years ago. (I got the MSRP sticker w/ it). I'm happy.

OK, now I see what you're seeing. Good eye. The grille, which is made out of soft vinyl/ABS-type stuff on this truck, is tweaked and has a bent/bubble deal on upper left. I hope that it just straightens out when I replace the bumper but if not, oh well...

No need, it has the factory towing mirrors. Huge power/heated/telescopic mirrors that are hands-down the best PU truck mirrors I've ever seen. Just have to remember to fold them in when parked on narrow streets.

Nice find. Great color, I even like the topper. Any plans to modify it? I've always been impressed with the modded diesels that get another 150 fl-lb of torque and better MPG.

Nice Denis. I like my 6.0L PSD Excursion. I need a set of those mirrors though, I have the lame dumbo ear mirrors on mine.

I have 51,000 miles on mine and it purs like a kitten.

Only mods will be a 4" "turbo-back" exhaust that flows a little better, (and keeps EGTs lower), and Bilstein shocks. Maybe other small things like Ipod adaptor and blue tooth, GPS/Nav, etc...

Chipping 6.0s is not a good idea unless you really know what you're doing and replace head bolts w/ ARP studs, etc... People who tow heavy and install chips/programmers are littered all over the diesel boards w/ their tales of multiple replaced HGs, turbos, EGR coolers, etc., etc...

570 lb./ft. of torque @ 2k rpm is enough for me. I want reliability.

It won't. It's a factory design 'flaw' where the fasteners that hold the grille to the radiator support don't allow enough expansion/contraction and forces the plastic grille to bow. My '07 F250 Harley does the exact same thing. The chrome grilles fare better as they seem to be a little harder than the unpainted (gray) or painted (body-colored) grilles like yours and mine.

Hey EK, which oil do you like in your 6.0? I was thinking of trying full-synthetic Rotella. (Or similar). TIA.

That is polar opposite to what I picked up today

Nice truck. I know who to call when I need to rip the wall out of my apt or equivalent.
