Apple memory upgrade?

How much improvement will I see in my MacPro 2.2 going from 2G to 4G of memory, anything or will performance be the same? Cost is only $50 or so, should I do it?

Depends on what apps you run, but to me it's a no-brainer.

Every Mac I have has maxed out memory, and they all run faster as a result.

I'm getting 4GB in the mail today. I will let you know if I see a difference. I know it will make a huge difference when I run VMWare. I have a new aluminum MacBook 2.0.

RAM has never been cheaper. Buy as much as you can afford.

Maxed out my MacBook Pro and noticed a big improvement, particularly in dealing with photos.

I'm curious to know how installation goes also. I bought one right after they came out and now I'm feeling the memory upgrade itch. Any easier or harder than on the last gen White MacBooks?

MacPro is a Desktop unit and adding RAM is cake.

RAM gets installed on trays that simply slide in/out.

MacBook Pro is also cake, remove battery, remove a couple of screws. RAM goes in at a slight angle, you should be able to get it seated in the slot and it will rock back n forth. Then gently lay it into place so the clips click.

Actually, ram prices seem to be going up, at least Mac ram. My reference point are the prices at Other World Computing. A 4 Gb module for my PowerMac G5 was $42 a couple of months ago. Today's price is $60.
