This thread has the Slurm secret ingredient.

I don't get it, the Dr. logs in and makes a comment in a positive tone about the general good nature of this forum and then gets three pages of harassment and ridicule for it. Whats that all about?

Hey man, Seahawk is a vet, a helo pilot, and a farmer(heartland of america and all). OK, he was a sailor too, but no one is perfect.

I have no problem reffering to him as beloved. It's dudes like him this country was founded and built on. ;)

See Doc's 2nd post in this thread:

No, I meant "loser" as defined in Websters dictionary.
Function: noun Date: 1548
1: a person or thing that loses especially consistently
2: a person who is incompetent or unable to succeed ; also : something doomed to fail or disappoint
But Thank You for proving my point about the latter. (in reference to seahawk, who she called a looser.)

She took the gloves off, so did we.

I think 'sophist' threw this thread off track. Or I'm more pedestrian that I thought. Somebody accused somebody of dissing somebody and somebody else jumped in. It's like one of my econ classes in college where the prof didn't speak English. WTF are you talking about, Snipe?

KevinP73 05-31-2009 05:28 PM

I'm not sure I agree. You asked if she meant that you were a "looser" and she replied that she meant "loser' not "looser".

I feel I know Paul well, and you are absolutely correct. I would defer on "beloved" though. He would just think I was weird.

Ok so I am.

It's about increasing the amazement.

I didn't ask her anything, that was Seahawk.

I'm fairly drunk.

BLEW911 05-31-2009 06:05 PM

Maybe she meant hoser?

My comment of this community was prompted by "Challenges in life" started by Cdone1. I was truly moved by the Love and Pride this man has in his son. It brought to mind MadMikes thread of his son fighting cancer. I don't have any children of my own so I can't imagine what it must be like to live in his shoes. But it makes me wonder what could it be that this man comes here to share such a heavy burden? And then there is my friend KevinP who I know is not a praying man but asks this community for prayers for Jaime, the daughter of a school buddy. The examples of this camaraderie are many and often and I felt like I would be free to acknowledge them.
I did however notice in Cdnone1's thread how quickly an ugly element exposes itself. It was only 10 posts in that m21sniper tries to derail this mans thread.
I caught the humor and irony in Seahawk's post in honor of Milts thread and the little smiley icon assured me that he was just being cute. I noticed that M21sniper implied that I was calling Seahawk a "loser" but after reading his verbal attack on Law Enforcement in another thread I chose to not even respond to him. The part where I said "But Thank You for proving my point about the latter" was more in reference to the second group mentioned in my original post but I guess they are both one in the same. You know yourself better than I do so if thats how you want to be known I won't challenge you.
Jim was right about my little "slap". It really was just to make the trolls aware that I/we know who they are. I'll thank Kevin personally for bringing tabs into my thread. After discovering the "ignore" function I thought I was free of that vermin.
pwd72s, I appreciate your encouragement to hang in there for the right guy. My comment of "trading up" was just a clumsy attempt at a cyber wink, not really an assumption of your availability.
From there my attempt at acknowleging something good spiraled out of control and I just wrote it off to a testosterone rich audience trying to impress one another. Although I really did expect more from nostatic. He continues to impress me with his ability to evade maturity.
