Any other boaters?

Just wondering if there are any other boaters on the board? I currently have a 370 Sea Ray!!! The wife and I are really getting into the boating thing.

"inside" = bay fishermen & idiots
"outside" = in sight of land
"offshore" = 10-30 mile fishermen
"canyon running" = 100-125 miles to the canyon

The farther you go the bigger your brass.

Some guys have webbed feet, some don't.

That is some funny schiess... I did canyon runs, and over nighters at the fishtails when I was a kid..My dad had a 33' Chrisovich...

I used to run my 13' whaler out to the Cholera banks for blues.. and other times troll for bass in the breakers off the Pink Hotel or near the Rota wreck..

Had a bunch of various boats.. sold my last boat a 23' Parker... I was working on my racecar, and a guy walked in and wanted to look at the boat on a trailer in my backyard.... Two days later he hands me an envelope full of cash and tows my boat away..

Ron and I live real close to the water.. within 500 feet of my house is a canal and a pond...

I don't own a boat right now.. but that could change tomorrow... I noticed a small Cabo with a for-sale sign down the canal from my place

Have had a string of boats over the years. Two Grand Banks, a 31' and a 48'. Three sailboats, a Cal 25 (in high school), an Erickson 32, and a Hunter 433.

Have a 20' Crestliner pontoon at the moment, it is out on the lake twice a week at least this time of year.

Does crewing on a ketch count? From Puerto Rico to the South Caicos took over 3 days. Light winds. Man, I'll never forget the thrill of seeing land grow out of the horizon...right off the nose! This was before GPS...navigation done with compass, sextant, a quartz watch and a trailing log.

I've been on the water all my life the first boat we had was a 22' catalina. then a 27 ' yaul. then we got a 13' whaler .....years later we have our 21' mako center console and i have my little play toy a 16' hobie cat. The boating community is just a self help group in disguise.

I don't own a boat right now..

along with growing up with this stuff...

I hung on the "Four Queens" for 3 seasons. It was the 42' wood sport docked in Silver Point for its early history in the late 1960s. It had a rep for the meanest Canyon boat around. This boat was built to run fast and be fished hard. I rode it after the original owner replaced it with a larger glass sport. That one was totaled in a fire at the dock on a freezing night. Low v hull with 427 turbos. It was a great boat to ride with a great rep. One season the boat went out over 30x. I was very lucky to be around on that one.

Otherwise owning an ocean boat is a losing proposition for me due to my act.

One boat I had was a trick bass boat that I spent 30/week on. Right now I'd like the right jet boat for fishing. I think I'll have to build my own?

If you want an entertaining boat story

brilliant solutions you're proud of

HOOT! No shower on that tub...there was a squall when we were anchored on the banks of the South Caicos...I went forward, lathered myself up with joy liquid detergent & salt h20, then stood in the squall's rain...it was heaven. Of course, we could do this ONLY after the water tanks had been filled.

I have the ultimate cheapy 186 rinker and we have a lot of fun. Does not atract allot of attention as the PO abused it in everyway possible but with a new drive, carpet and seats its respectable and fairly cheap fun

Cleaning my boat yesterday, some jackass ends up hitting my bowsprit WHILE I'm in my slip! WTF!!! I came out and ax "WTF, the 40' of fairway not good enough?" He sez, "We didn't hit your boat" Cherries

What it looked like before the name change.
