Helping with Cub Scout day camp
I am on staff this week at Day Camp. I am helping at the cooking station. Today we cooked bacon on a flat rock for them and them let them cook biscuits on a stick. We slogged around in rain gear for a little bit but somehow the smile on those little guys faces makes it all worthwhile. I'll post up some pictures tomorrow

Never did Cub Scouts, but did do Boyscout camp for 1-2 weeks every summer for 7 years in a row. Camp Freeland Leslie in Oxford, Wisconsin. That was a fun time.
Also did Philmont twice.

I was never a scout but spent years as an Assistant Scoutmaster & Scoutmaster. The boys worked hard, and played harder ! I wound up with 8 Eagles. A very rewarding time in my life was devoted to my troop.

Loved going to Heritage Reservation for a week every year I was in Scouts. I still remember the pride I felt earning the "black" pin for my hat for .22 marksmanship--the others were okay--fishing, camp cleanliness, etc., but everyone wanted THAT black pin.

Very good!
My son made Eagle a few years ago, (with my boot up his butt to get it done). As I've told him, he can put that on his resume', while it won't get him a job, it will increase his chances of actually getting an interview. I bailed after 1st class; sex, drugs and rock and roll, you know.

Philmont twice myself too '88 and '89 I think it was. I have two 50 year patches. It was awesome.
Eagle Scout, spent almost every year for 6 or 7 years out of doors. It was a fantastic experience - did Cub scouts too - looking forward to getting my boys in their uniforms. Hugh, it very well may get him the job. Of two generally equal resumes - one is an eagle the other is not. Who are you going to pick? I am surprised that nearly every interview I end up in that is serious - it doesn't just come up in passing - it's something that is focused on almost as much as anything else.
