Cool Critique my Friend's Music Video.

Dudes.

Hey, check out my friend's video. She just finished it and is very proud of it. Got almost all of the time/expense donated through friends, etc., which is great. I played the Pedal Steel guitar and Hammond Organ on the song.

CAUTION: Girly-music ahead, but there's a cute girl, so maybe it's worth a look.

Sounds good Jeremy! Not a bad song either.

Very good for volunteer work

The crescendo had great use of the Leslie speaker - I was wondering were it was going to be used. Nice work on your PS, and of course that organ. That old piano made for an amazing prop. Did they tune it before using it?

So from PPOT it goes viral to the web!

Video's a little esoteric for me, but I'm an "it's too loud" sort of guy. The music? Like it! Right up my wife's alley for sure. I think she'll get another fan tonight. Her voice has a real Tori Amos/Nora Roberts quality that both the wife and I like.

it's hormone rich. My ovaries are aching. I think that I'll put the seat down for the wife next time I take a leak

I think that it's very pro!

Great job

I like it, but of course I have some critiques

I hate smashing the piano. I get the metaphoric connection with the "fake guy", etc but in general destroying instruments bugs me. The Who and Jimi, maybe. Everyone else? Not so much.

She looks a little restrained when she's singing while playing (the lip sync). Feels like she should push a little harder on that. You don't want to go too far into over-acting/mugging but I feel a little disconnect.

For the tune, I love the PS - it sets the track apart - but the overall song arrangement strikes me as a bit *too* dynamic. It goes from soft and sparse to big and full and back again a lot. Maybe one too many dips in the energy roller coaster.

But my opinion is worth what you paid for it. Oh, and it needs some subtle fretless bass work

Interesting eclectic blend of the song; blues, country, jazz. But as for the video, not my taste especially the " Mike Myers Halloween" dude; freaky, and whats with the blood on his mouth, or is that wine?

Anyway good luck to her.

Very professional, and I kind of enjoyed the song, even though it's not my style. I agree with Todd - not a fan of instrument smashing. To me it shows disrespect for the thing that gives your creativity its voice. Even if it's a beat up old piano that isn't worth anything, or even if it's Jimi Hendrix. It always gets under my skin a bit.

Musically, it seems to cross genres a lot, which may confuse people. It's got the country twang of the steel guitar, the soft, emotional Tori Amos type voice, and the occasional chromatic harmonies bring jazz into the sound world. It works for me, but then I have eclectic tastes. The video, however, doesn't seem to reflect any of these styles, though admittedly I watch VERY few music videos, so I might just be out of touch with them.

It's a bit country sounding to me, but it's ok besides.

The video came out good.

Nicely done!! Very professional.
Attractive gal with a great voice. She should be proud, you too
This will certainly get her noticed.

Metaphorically, maybe over my head. The piano was in rough shape before she started smashing it ?? the guy with the bag over his face gave me the creeps. I am sure the wife could explain it to me

Nicely done, not expert here, but was that supposed to be snow on the innards of the piano, or bird poop? The mask/statue thing I don't get. Pretty girl, and a nice tune.

I expected to hear Randy Newman start singing after the piano intro..........

I'm not much into videos but I like the song.

Reminds of Jann Arden a bit. The song, not the hot gal in the video.

An average song, by an average singer. And the guy was just strange. But then maybe I am too shallow to understand these things.
