My dog Farmer and her recent Ninja history

This has all happened within the past two weeks. I let her out late one night--scream barking began, I run out. Skunk. Farmer had it in her mouth shaking it violently. It got away, but Farmer got nailed in the face. Wow. Next day, more barking, my wife went out and Farmer caught a mourning dove. Toast. Sitting in the living room, she nabbed a fly out of mid air. This morning, my son went out with her in the yard and she B lined for a robin and snagged it as it was flying away. We thought she was slowing down, but now we think the Golden a few doors down may be selling her some "Puppy Uppers"... I love this big lug.

What a beautiful dog! How old is she? Almost looks like she has some Rhodesian Ridgeback mix (I have 2 of these dogs), or at lease some shepherd? Nice looking dog.

Those eyes indicate she's never done anything wrong. Totally innocent.

We got her at a pound on the south side of Chicago 8 yrs ago--we think she's about 9 1/2. We think she's a ridgeback shepherd mix. Sweetest dog you'd ever meet.

My cat will leap into the air and catch flies between his front two paws, and pull their wings off, and let them go...to walk.

He will also catch spiders and pull off all of their legs, one by one. I've found living spiders with no legs and writhing nubs.

That poor baby, I can tell from that pic, you don't scratch her noggin nearly enough.

When it saves the neighborhood from a scary looking pet lizard, like a real man, then I'll be impressed.

Or Daschund has killed one squirrel, numerous mice, several skinks, a couple of little snakes and some birds. The worst was a terrapin. She dismembered it and made a bloody mess. She used to just love crickets but those are off her list now for some reason. Anything that has ever been alive is potential food. She will eat the tiny pears from our Bradford pear tree. We have a fish pond in the back yard and she dreams of a sushi meal. She is a hunter.

They are hunters. We are pretty sure ours has caught and killed a squirrel.

I had to dispose of the squirrel corpse. I doubt it dropped dead from a heart attack. It did not have any bullet wounds. She takes care of the mice by herself. She is 11 years old now and finally learned that toads will not run, and they make her froth at the mouth. She will still go bark at a toad and poke it with her nose a couple of times.
