Seattle's Pig Truck
I posted this in the PNW forum for those who might be interested in coming down, but I thought the rest of you guys would get a kick out of this too.
So I know a few of you have noticed it, and a couple have made it down to check it out, but I wanted to post some pics of the catering truck that my company has recently transformed into a pig and dropped on 2nd & Pike. We sell BBQ sandwiches (Pork & Veggie), two types of slaw, veggie chips, and a couple of drinks of our own blend out of it. Drop down and check it out sometime if you end up in the Pike's Market area. The office is only half a block away, so if you give me warning I may be able to make it down to say hi. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Haha, it figures that within 3 posts, the 3 most frequently asked questions would come up.
1. Nope, much to the chagrin of some of us, it has a straight tail. It does look pretty cool in person, but doesn't photograph so well, I'll dig a shot up in a bit if I can find one. 2. Veggie, yep, it's Seattle. It's fennel, roasted onions, toasted barely (the texture of which is great), tossed in the BBQ sauce. One can actually get a fully vegetarian meal (Vegan I think too if you skip the bun, not sure if that passes or not). 3. It's actually painted the color of silver it is, it's fiberglass, made to look like metal. It has painted on texture and rust, and actually looks really great in person. There is mumbling about doing another one or two, maybe one of those will end up a metallic pink.

Those ears must really screw up the aerodynamics. What kind of lap times does it turn?

I was trying to get us set up to drive and feed an AutoX, just haven't had time yet. Would be a fun way to train the staff.
![]() It does a rocking 57mph flat out on the I90 bridge deck, but only managed to go up the other side at about 35 I hear. We considered some vents in the ears for aerodynamics, but with the power to weight ratio, it probably wouldn't have even made that much of a difference. The next one needs a turbo. ![]()

It weighs less than one of those monsters though.
![]() Note the length of the snout, seems to me like it's only a matter of time until a wide turn takes out a sign board or trashcan on the edge of the sidewalk as it swings around.

I think a bunch of bikini clad girls on "Paint the Pig Day" during the lunch hour on a sunny day would be a great promotional stunt. Tip off all the local radio and TV stations.
Of course, you may want to personally interview the painters yourself prior to hiring them. Once it's all pink and dried, then let customers sign it or whatever (to a point) on it. Great advertising and people will come back to see their sigs or whatever they put on it.
