Did your Vet give you a "pill popper"? Making sure those claws are wrapped up inside a towel also helps...

+1 on the towel method, worked well for me.
Wrap kitty in a towel and then place cat between legs while kneeling, life back head, open mouth, pop them in and stroke neck - bingo no scratches ![]() Good luck

get the meds compounded.... where it's made in a liquid form (tuna flavored or such) and given with a syringe.

we had to give our ava 2 pills per day for 6 months during her recovery from tainted pet food, it took a pill popper, me to hold her while the wife used the popper, and a cunning trick so she didn't realize what was about to happen or she'd hide......

I mash up the pills and mix it with the cat's canned food. Works great and saves us both a lot of grief.

You should try a curtains cord. It only really works if they aren't neutered though...

Try the method used in the play "Greater Tuna", the bitter pill, but with a sedative.

Our cats had ringworm. We had to give them nasty-tasting medicine daily for a month. Technique - grab cat and hold firmly, force open mouth, push syringe to back of throat, squirt, hold mouth closed for a few secs. Need two people for this. After a while, became routine. Even for the cats.

I had a girlfriend once whose cat was diabetic. It was a very pretty cat with very long hair, and probably weighed 20 lbs. She had to give it insulin shots in the hip. The cat was pretty lethargic, and would just lay while it took the shot, making this meow-ish moan the whole time. It was kind of sad.
The cat still lives however, and is probably about 15 years old by now.

i am giving the older cat an antibiotic for some crystal in the bladder. this is just to relieve some swelling and trauma to the bladder. she gets another visit, to determine if she needs surgery on tuesday.
the new cat has a respiratory infection that is requiring liquid clavamox. the hind claws on cats is very dangerous. fast, sharp, strong....
