Anyone know what kind of toilet this is? Can I get parts?
 Anyone in the PPOT Brain Trust know anything about this type of pressurized reservoir toilet. The white dot in the center of the hex-looking black nut thing is the valve. It was sticking, so I put some 3-in-1 oil on it and now when you flush it opens and closes about a zillion times and you have to hold it down until it fills. Can I get replacement parts, HD doesn't seem to have any idea. No markings as to manufacturer. Or should I just buy another toilet? Thanks in Advance.  Edit: Upon closer examination, the tag to the right says Kohler, so that gets me started.

It is a bad idea gone bad. Change it out for a modern 1.6 gallon. Those old pressure tank models were just a stupid design. Go gravity and you will be amazed.

Marvel Mystery Oil works wonders at times... That looks a lot like the one we have on the airplane.

We've got one in the house. Used to have 2, and would still have the 2nd, but someone broke the bowl, so we had to replace the toilet. The previous owner owned a construction company. These are normally used in commercial apps. When they work, they really work. I think I've got some documentation somewhere at home.

When I first moved into my house, I was poor. We replaced a toilet with just about the cheapest toilet we could get. I think it was $100 at HD. It was horrible. It clogged really easily. Since then, I've started making more money. We've replaced the cheap toilet and another toilet in the house. I think we paid about $300 for the replacements. It seemed like a lot of money at the time, but both toilets flush quiet and hardly ever (if ever) clog. I've never had problems with the pressure assisted toilets, but if you spend more money on a regular toilet, you get a better product.

I tried various American Standard Toilets in my powder room. All would clog, thought it was the plumbing, but could not find anything wrong. Even the new, fully glazed, larger trapway A/S would clog. Used to have to plunge about once a month.
Then I found this site: http://www.terrylove.com/crtoilet.htm Tried a Toto, and that is all I will buy now. 5 years later, and I have NEVER had to plunger the Toto |
