HELP Please! MS Outlook Archive Retrieval? How?

I'm using MS Outlook email software and every so often the program archives my old emails. I'm pretty sure they're still "there" somewhere and I need to access an email that I sent to a client in the past.

Any ideas how to retrieve an email from the archives.
Thanks in advance!

Usually, depending on the version of outlook the archive file is here:

C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\archive.pst

To open the PST file click file, open and choose 'outlook data file' and point it to that folder and file.

If it isn't in there check in tools, then options and look for the auto archive configuration window as it will have the path to the files.

Open Outlook ->File ->Open ->Point to the archive.PST file and it should load into Outlook, listed as Archive Folders.

Thanks Dave,
When I do this it just comes up blank.

I go to File > Open > Outlook Data File > "box opens" showing "outlook.pst" and "archive.pst"
I click either of those and nothing opens, just comes up blank.

When I go to my archive options box, it shows me the path where the archives are; I go to that file and find the archive.pst folder and it shows me that its a huge file, so something is there but it's not opening into my outlook?

Thanks again,

Is there a little plus to the left of the Archive folder? If so, expand it.

Thanks Mike and Dave, you've been a great help.

Now, it only goes back 3 years?
I'm looking for an email from 4 years ago. Ho Hum.

No problem Rob!

I don't think you are going to find it.
