jeff check airguns of arizona .com or arizonaairguns.com. they changed names. anyway these guys were at the NRA show with a booth. they are fairly big time operation. all the toys any of us lil boys would ever want. they steered me in right direction on scope mt and scope. and 2yrs ago had them go thru all seals spring etc. on rws. its a one cocker action. people get kind of freaky when i whip it out.........looks and fells like a 30.06. i'd say my best shot on a critter one shot one kill was about 65-75 yds. after that it will stun them and then ya got to scamper for the coup de grace.

my buddy picked up his compressed air in .22. but they sell all the way up to .58 cal pellet rifles. these compressed air(scuba tank fills) can be suppressed legally from what i hear....or didnt hear. i can sit in adjacent room of buddys house while he lights his off in his hallway at his set up target and HEAR NOTHING! down his hallway all he does is obliterate "X"!

reason he bought one is he lives in an older scottsdale neighborhood with lots of neighbors close in. he has been a registered dezert tortoise "daddy" for over 30 some odd years. he raises them in his backyard. well numerous birds attack and kill babies and he had his craw filled with that crap and went on the bird offense.

classic what ya dont know cant hurt ya. no sound and multiple dead birds.

NO MOLESTE DE TORTUGAS!

since most on here live in cities(flatlanders) with minimal critters if any aside from pesky bees and wasps, us rural folk have to deal with this dee-structive animal behavior on a daily basis. vehicles here get wasted by pack rats in NO TIME garaged or kept outside. you really got to be on top of yer anti-rodenten game here or have a wallet full of money for repairs and headaches associated. hell the airport i work at has a HELL of a rodent problem in hangers. GIANT PITA! same at my house. first hole, first wasted plant/tree, seeds, pods, any foreign object in my engine compartments and THE HUNT IS ON!

this last squirral GAVE ME FITS! laugh now as it is pretty comical, but that bastid was always one step ahead of me, up until the other day............and then he made MY DAY! kind of like a mini elk/deer hunt here everyday.

I ought to hire m28sniper to come and kill the iguanas in my city of 2 square miles.

-I'll hand you the keys to my boat and a credit card to buy gas. The circumference of Wilton Manors, Florida is about 6 miles. You can cover it at the local wake speed in my boat in 2 hours. I'll provide the gas.

I'll give you $5 for each iguana carcass you return to my dock~

There are THOUSANDS of these things along the seawalls of this city! Mr. Sniper, I suspect that you will be able to buy a 928GTS if you take advantage of this offer!

YOU get to deal with the local constabulary. Note please that the firing of firearms and pellet guns is illegal in Fort Lauderdale, Wilton Manors, and Oakland Park, Florida. But what the cop didn't see....didn't happen.

Interested?

That's good to know, Bill... he doesn't look like he's doin' it right. :D

What's he doin' with his left hand?

WELL.

There I was thinking Mr. "Sniper" was actually a HUNTER.

He lives in....? Arizona? Or some place like that. I didn't expect him to read my online post, and then call a travel agent to book a $400 ticket to Fort Lauderdale....so that he could sit behind my house with my pellet gun!

Yet....Mr. Sniper is surely quick to advocate quick gun action against iguanas and people who support them; Hmm-

I have a name for people like that; People who sit around and talk a big story, blow a lot of big words, over-explain everything, and want everyone to know how tough they really are. Yet they never actually....

Hmm. Why Am I Smelling Bovine Excrement when I regard Sniper's Posts~-

Why can't some people seem to take the initiative and responsibility to handle their own problems, to pitch in as a community to "get 'er done"? Or, at the very least, stay the hell out of the way and STFU when someone does decide to take that initiative and responsibility? Farking hand-wringing ninnies - they deserve their fate, as they sit whimpering, wringing their hands in despair, waiting for someone else to do something. And then whining even louder when someone does. They deserve their fate. The rest of us do not.

put a $100, heck even a $50 bounty on their heads, dead or alive, and i bet you would have alot more than 17 for your 70k.

Oh, but guaranteed, the hand-wringing ninnies would demand this be done fairly, in a humane way, while respecting the dignity of the damn monitors. And god forbid anyone find an efficient way to do this... that is not suitably sporting, giving the damn monitors a fair chance... And almost equally guaranteed, the loudest whiners won't even live there.

normy, first off, i used to sell iguanas. nasty creatures. i cannot imagine what one that has been released and turned wild on the florida wildlife would be like. i shiver to imagine. i think it is okay to dispatch them on sight. pellet gun, sharpened shovel, arrow tipped with a judo point (my personal choice, i think)..whatever. but drowning one? if i kill something, i have it in my mind to make it quick. i owe the creature that. taking it's life is a big responsibilty. why make it suffer?

dump it into a sack, and hit it with a baseball bat. or get a bigger pellet gun.

disclaimer: i am over here safe, on the other coast. i have never come across a five-foot wild iguana. i am simply a sofa-quarterback over here. just my lame opinion.
