We had great food everywhere with only a few duds along the way. The best was a place called Torre d'Oriente in Modica. The night photo with the clock tower was shot from their balcony while we were having a cigarette outside with Max from Interpol in Rome. That's what he said . . .

My wife and I took much of that exact same tour of Sicily in the mid 90s One of our best trips. Enjoyed it much more than mainland Italy. Still remember an amazing seafood dinner we had in Catania.

We loved Sicily. Stunning vistas. Incredible roads. I drove a Passat 2.0 TDI 6 spd right across the island. And I squeezed that car through some of the tightest spots . . .

Hated Rome (again).

They are mummies in the Capuchin Monastary in Palermo. Really bizarre place. Over 6000 people mumified corpses hanging on the wall. I'll dig up a few more photos.

More of the dead dudes . . . these were taken with no flash & medium low light so they tend to be a bit fuzzy . . . you weren't supposed to take pics but . . .

Very, very strange.
