New T-shirt: Engineers Sketch out the RS
When Porsche engineers were assigned the task of creating a series in Group 4 for GT racing, what did their first sketches look like? This T-shirt pays homage to those first drawings and specs defined in getting a car ready for the 1972 Paris Auto Show.
I've only been able to get one Photoshopped mock-up done, that is I've placed the raw artwork layer over a photo of one of the shirts I'm offering. I really need to get some interns! Anyway, for this design, I'm offering 4 shirts: 1. Destroyed, dirty white with dark blue ink 2. Destroyed, vintage wash black with white ink 3. Basic natural (unbleached cotton) T with dark blue ink 4. Basic black T with white ink The destroyed T's are just that. They are standard T-shirts that have ground edges on the neck, sleeves and waist. They have also been enzyme washed to both make them soft, but also very thin. If you washed one of your T's 100 times, that's what it will look like. I chose these for their "back of napkin" appeal which matches the style of the sketch I think. These are great for hot weather! They are similar in size and shape to the 917 T's. The basic T's are similar in size, shape and fabric to the 917 T's and are, well, nice basic T's. While I don't have a mock-up of it, my personal favorite will be the washed out vintage black destroyed T. I'll be using a discharge ink for this shirt which will make the off-white ink part of the shirt...not on top of the shirt. When ordering, please specify: Destroyed white Destroyed black Natural Black Each shirt is $26 shipped. Not going to estimate shipping East/Coast this time. Canada, add $7, overseas add $10 (total, not per shirt if ordering more than one). My paypal is shaun@littletravelerusa.com. I'll be running these July 1-3 and shipping then. Please let me know if you have any questions, always best via email than PM which fills up pretty fast. here's the destroyed, dirty white: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1245275755.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1245276044.jpg Close-ups: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1245275819.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1245275861.jpg Stock photo of the destroyed black: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1245276091.jpg |
First off... very cool.
May I offer up some peculiar unsolicited advice? Script like that as drawn by an engineer would almost always have an absolutely vertical line (sometimes assisted with a straightedge) and the upper/lower limits of the letters would be on or about the guide lines drawn. My first day of my first job as an engineer, I was moved away from any computers an sat in front of a Mylar sheet to 'letter' for one day. A crazy old German engineer proceeded to tear me a new one for the exact reasons I mentioned above. |
The destroyed effect is great - put me down for black in 2xl. Do you have pics of natural?
|
Any girl T's?
|
I'd like three (or more) shirts, IF I can get them in 3XLT (2) and 4XLT (1). pls pls. Extras w/b ladies sizes (3).
I know...we're not normal. |
My washing machine can reproduce the "destroyed" effect and it doesn't cost extra...

einreb, thanks for the input, are you saying to grid out the letters with verticals in between?
Dave, will put you down. Natural is a little darker than the dirty white. Will post a pic tomorrow. Kim, I can do girl's T's for you. Want this in burnout? I'll email you a few styles. Jeremy, let me check on availability of 3XL and 4XL and I'll let you know what I can do. I'm sure I can accomodate in some way. Art, let's talk about some contract work. :) David, believe it or not, I'm working the Iron Beast this week. Never was able to get a wide format printer, but working on overlapping sheets. Forgot to post my paypal address, here it is: shaun@littletravelerusa.com Thanks all! S |

OK boys, sounds like you need to pump some $ into the economy and head down to Sears for new washers.
I am offering two shirts that are "normal" for those folks who prefer a good, basic T. |
Shaun,
Being older I would prefer a good basic T - what colors are the 2 you are offering? |
Jeff, the two basic T's I'm offering are black (a true, deep black) and "natural" which is an off-white. I'm going to get samples of those tomorrow and post.

I realize that this feedback is insane, but its true. ;) If you want to replicate nutball anal retentive german engineers... you might as well get the details right. < parf > god is in the details < /parf > |
whoops. duped on edit.

1 XL natural good basic T please will paypal tomorrow
|
Shaun,
I wear a men's small usually. Would a regular small work or should I get a Medium? I don't mind if it is a little tight. |
Shawn, nice designs.
Are there any payment alternatives to EBAY/PAYPAL? The reason being is Paypal and the socialist-banking credit/debit-system takes away a percentage of profit from the direct merchant. |
How much for one of these and one of the 917 shirts shipped to 73620? shoot me a pm.
|
Red, my experience is a small is very small in these shirts, you may want to get a medium.
///////////////////////////////////////////// John, I take checks and credit cards. If checks, address is: Little Traveler 10 Dexter Avenue Watertown, MA 02472 made out to Little Traveler If CC, PM me your phone and a time to call. ///////////////////////////////////////////// Sid, I have one 917 in large left. total is $55 shipped. |
Here are the standard Black and Natural. These T's are identical to the 917 shirts, that is they have a longer, "fashion fit" that is close to the body, without being tight. I am 5'10" and 180 and the Large fits me perfectly. The Destroyed T's have the same fit, but are a little shorter. Someone wrote in that the Destroyed T's would look great over a basic LST, and I agree.
The black is very nice deep black. the Natural is unbleached cotton, maybe a shade darker than the dirty white destroyed, and has little flecks in the weave. Both are very soft, high quality T-shirts. Thank you all for the orders so far! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1245343757.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1245343782.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1245343865.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1245343886.jpg |
