All sharks will sink unless they are swimming. Sometimes they swim in the shallows, sometimes in deeper waters, but they continue on.

If you ever print that on a shirt let me know... I want one!

Shaun @ Tru6 06-19-2009 07:33 PM

Would you like a special graphic too? Any font you think would work best? I can make one up for you in a bit.

Too long. Shorten that up to a 6 words and you have a winner.

Jumped the shark? Hardly. We aren't desperate, we have threads about what salve to rub between your legs and how many pillow you have. Quite the opposite of "jumping the shark."

Woiw,. Just read part of that thread from 2005, is it my imagination or was our poopy-head moderator a bit "wordy" back then? ;)

it's fascinating to watch the personal conflicts and relationships develop and change over a period of several years.
People who were pissing in each other's cheerios back then have teamed up against the current political regime, others who were chummy back then are now at each other's throats for one reaason or another, one troll banned and another steps up. There's gotta be a paper in there somewhere. Todd?

I think it would be a challenge to express the same sentiment in six words.

That's why few get published as equals to Ben Franklin.

This thread jumped the shark. Why do the PARF-wankers persist in defecating in the PPOT forum when they have their purpose-built sewer?

Maybe they don't get to go out with friends for a great burger and homemade cream stout?

Such fond memories of just moments ago. mmmmmm, stoooouuuuuuuutttttttt. :):):)

onlycafe 06-20-2009 07:39 PM

i will be in boston on the 4th of july. where can i go for a stout and a great burger?

Shaun @ Tru6 06-20-2009 08:02 PM

Do you mind going to my friend's house? He has a Weber, makes great beer. :)

For out and about, I like FourBurgers in Central Square, they use good meat from Brandt Farm (when they opened they used beef that was TWICE as good, but also twice as expensive and wasted on Cantabridgian tastebuds), but I'm not even sure if they sell beer. Same with the ice cream place down the street, awesome $3 burger. Mr. Bartley's in Harvard Square has great burgers, something like 100 versions, but no beer. John Harvard's you can get a decent burger and great, fresh beer.

But for the best of both worlds, you have to go to RF O'sullivans in Somerville.

If you are going to the Esplanade for the fireworks, make sure you are settled and timed for the F-15s flyover. They come from Cambridge and fly over the Charles and over Boston so low you can almost touch them. Easily the highlight of every July 4th.

I recommend John Harvards in Harvard Square. One of my favorite old haunts. Barring that, Boston Beer Works is pretty good too (if a little touristy).

Jim Richards 06-21-2009 05:00 AM

Burgers? Stout? 4th of July fireworks in Boston? Wow, nice save on this thread guys!

onlycafe 06-21-2009 12:07 PM

i'll take the consensus vote for john harvards. thanks.

This is still the same but it gets old after a couple of years. That's with the individual, not the OT board. You can say the same about the tech board.

He'd say:
PETERMAN: I'm afraid I have some bad news, Elaine. It appears you will not be accompanying me to Africa.

ELAINE: What? Why not?

PETERMAN: I'm afraid it's your urine, Elaine. You tested positive for opium.

ELAINE: Opium?

PETERMAN: That's right, Elaine. White lotus. Yam-yam. Shanghai Sally.

ELAINE: Ihat's impossible, I've never done a drug in my life. Dr. Strugatz must have made a mistake.

PETERMAN: Not a chance. I'm afraid I'll just have to find someone else to accompany me on my journey. The dark continent is no place for an addict, Elaine.

ELAINE: Obviously, Mr. Peterman, there's something wrong with this test. I don't take opium. Let me take another one, please? I'll call the doctor right now, I'll take a pop urine test.

PETERMAN: All right, Elaine.

ELAINE: Oh, thank you Mr. Peterman. (Drinks a glass of water) I'll be ready in three minutes.
