Houston to Baltimore best way?

Hi,

I'm going to be driving from Houston to Baltimore in a week, picking up a tow vehicle. Mapquest sends me along the coast via I-10/12E then I-59 N. Is that the best route? Just wondering if there were any lingering issues from the storm disaster a few years back.

you'll see a bit of aftermath along parts of 59 on your way north. lots of trees down and broken.
be on the lookout for smokies on your way through ol' miss.
stop and find some good eats on rte. 11 in some of the smaller towns, enjoy the trip.
