I did tell the cop that my radar detector did not go off. He sneered, "Well then you need to get a better radar detector."

Shoulda told the judge to produce the radar gun.....trigger it while the detector was on. Shut up or put up. Plus you woulda got a lucrative endorsement from the manufacturer.
DO I HAVE to think of EVERYTHING?

I have moved on...but I am still upset about the "Fast Driving Award" I recently received. Again, the V1 did not go off. However, this time it was a freakin' airplane that got me...& another guy the cop pulled over at the same time. And I was driving a rental Toyota Highlander of all things! 83 in a 65. I consider myself to be a pretty observant driver (i.e., I am VERY good at spotting the enemy). However, I got lazy & forgot to watch the skies. Shame on me...especially in Ohio...over Memorial Day weekend. Watch the skies my friends! I recently read in Car & Driver (I think) that the Ohio Highway Patrol has something like 20+ airplanes in its fleet. Yikes! Still no tickets while driving the guards red 911...yet.

![]() Valentine sells them for $399.00 w/ no sales tax and free shipping, (I think), and you can look at completed listings on eBay right now and see them sold for more than that. It's bizarre. I lucked-out and bought a used one on CL for $300 w/ latest SW and euro mode+POP/laser but it was an anomaly. If you do look at a used one, put the serial# into the Valentine web site and it will tell you exactly what SW it has. They digitally keep track of every one they've ever sold and it will also tell you if it's hot/stolen. As for needing the serial # to buy parts, they would not even talk to me @ Valentine customer service w/o providing them a serial #. No questions answered, nothing. I think that rocks, it severely reduces the value of a stolen unit. They will not even sell you a power cord. Every eBay listing has the serial # in it but the deals aren't there.

Good point. I've been debating between the V1 or a 9500ix myself, and I can't decide...
