Renting a car north of Boston area - need suggestions

I'm planning a trip just north of Boston in the coming months...Does anyone know where I can rent a "sporty" type car, i.e...Mazda Miata, Nissan 350Z, etc...I checked Hertz's "fun" collection and they do not have anything available at their Logan International Airport location...

Thanks

Jake, sorry I can't help you but let us know when you coming up and we'll have dinner. There are a few Pelicans in this neck of the woods.

What if you fly into Providence, RI or Manchester, NH? They're roughly an hour south and north, respectively, from Boston. New Englanders outside of the immediate Boston metro area often choose one of those airports in place of Logan.

+1 to that.

I only fly into Logan if there's no way to get to KPVD or KMHT. That airport is a mess - expensive, pain in the neck to get to, poorly laid out, etc. I hate going there. And this is coming from a guy who used to work there! (albeit many years ago).

+ eleventy billion! My brother lives in Boston and when I go to visit I fly into NYC. It's cheaper, always cool cars to rent and only about 4 hours to drive up to
Boston.

I'm heading to my hometown of Marblehead......I usually fly into Logan and get a ride from relatives...I have some buddies that are still up there looking into rental places for me...all I need is something that handles well and is relatively inexpensive, like a Miata...

If you are heading to Marblehead I would stick with Logan. It's not that bad anymore getting in and out with the new Ted W. tunnel and heading North is even easier. As for sporty cars there are a few Exotic car rental companies, most likeley in Revere, etc, but not right at Logan. I just recently rented from Enterprise in Austin TX and they had a handful of new Chargers.

Good luck and welcome back to Red Sox Nation!
