Will You Get A Swine Flu Vaccination This Fall? Yes, if I can find one? No? No, unless I hear that the disease has turned into something more dangerous/severe? Other? |
|
I will never get a flu shot |
|
Why not? Just curious. I have never gotten one myself, but have no particular reason for it. |
|
 Probably Tobra: Why not? |

Aluminum, found in flu shots, has been very directly linked to Alzheimer's is one good reason to not get a flu shot. Not to mention that the vaccine can actually make you more susceptible to the flu. It reacts poorly in individuals who consume a lot of aspartame (diet coke anyone) |

I have been really sick with the flu one time, after getting a flu shot. They told me it was not possible, I went back a few days later and put them straight. I can count the times I have been sick since I was a little kid on one hand. After Typhoid shot in boot camp, after flu shot in podiatry school, food poisoning a few times, altitude sickness in Vail when I went to my cousin Gary's wedding. |

Do you tell your patients not to get them? Only vaccine that made me sick was one for either typhoid or yellow fever. All I remember was it was a series of shots, about 2 weeks apart, and I was sick everytime. |

My wife and kids get the flu shots most years. They don't get flu, either from the shot or otherwise. I never get the shot. I get flu maybe once every three years. I kind of like it, actually - stay home, feel sorry for myself, eat a lot (flu makes me hungry), watch TV in a dazed state. Lasts a day or two. |

I think I just got over the swine flu. Honestly. I've never had a flu in the summer in all my life, and I got blasted by a big one for about a week in the last couple of weeks. It kicked my a$$. I fly airline passengers around for a living, so I'm probably more likely than the average American to be exposed to illnesses. Also, I've NEVER had a flu shot, and I don't plan to get one until I'm really, really old. |

No flu shots. I seem to do fine without them. |
|
Never have, never will. I get the flu once every 7-10 yrs., the common cold maybe every 5. |

I know a guy that has it currently. He's pretty sick, but he'll live. |

It's too late for me. I came down with the damned thing today. The fever and headache is the worst part... The body ache is pretty bad too. |

People who get sick a coupla days after getting the shot are not getting sick from the shot... the gestation period of the virus is longer than a couple of days. If it's a longer period of time, say two or three weeks afterwards, you most likely got a different strain of the flu than what the shot was formulated for. Doctors here can speak up and clarify/embellish. I've taken the shot for years. No problems and no flu. |

First time I had a flu shot, I also was sick shortly afterwards. I blamed the shot. After skipping it a few years, I decided to give it another try. I get the shot every year now. No flu for me (fingers crossed). |

Free at work...every year I got one.... |
|
I've never gotten a flu shot and never had the flu that I know of. When I was in college they required that everyone get a second Measels shot. I had a 102-103 fever within a few hours of getting the shot, but that only lasted about a day. It freaked me out a bit. |
|
yes. been getting flu shots for about 9 years and have not gotten the flu during that time. prior to that, i would certainly get the flu during flu season every year |
