It looks to me that the skaters buddies were on the sidelines (probably due to the fact that the thug had a gun), but as soon as he started going down, all of this kids friends jumped in. You can even see in the background where the thugs friend was taken down by another skater.

I think the skaters did the right thing.

In addition, although the temptation may have been to beat the punk to a pulp/death I think the skaters stopped at the right time. The guy got his ass kicked and is probably now in jail. It's obvious that the skaters are not regular fighters and where just skating - not prepared to be in a little gang fight.

I would say the skater buddies played it about right as far as when to jump in, but they did not administer enough of a beating, should have at least curbed him.

That's not how I read his comment. Interesting example of how people hear different things depending on their preconceived notions or prejudices about others. I read the comment to mean that it would be stupid to throw your life away w/ a murder rap for killing the guy once he was no longer an immediate threat to your own life.

Sure, I'd want to kill him. But I'm not going to throw my life away doing it.

He always seems to be defending other's stupidity, any time a criminal is nailed or someone does something really stupid, he jumps to the defence.. If the guy you *****slapped at that shop a while back had called him, he would have gone after you.. BTW, any cool new projects lately??

Had the skateboarder continued in the video to beat and eventually kill the thug, or if his buddies weighed in, mob-like and killed him, then I'd have no problem in him/them being prosecuted. I think his friends recognized that also and pulled him off after it was apparent the thug had enough.

I guess it's easier to make the determination to pull the plug on someone while sitting in a convenient armchair. For the heavy duty law and order types like you, it sounds like you would prefer to apply your own brand of law and order. Too many Hollywood cowboy movies or just stupid?

lucky the kid didnt get shot. the bad thing about pulling a gun is you better use it or be ready to use it, but to use it over something that was probably stupid to begin with is what is scary. how fast some punk will pull a gun thinking he is something bad, but in the end he is just stupid and has no respect for life or others. you can tell he has been watching too many tv shows. he is more worried about how he looks holding the gun than the fact the kid might take it away.

i would have like to seen a few more blows, but it was funny to see him stumbling around when he got up. the kid got tired of beating on him.
