Morning Glen,
I was thinking that you looked much older than I expected... Due to extreme weather conditions, you are excused for not having humpy pics on time... ;) |
Stijn!!
Sitting at the dermotoligst office with no shoes, socks or shirt.
|
Thanks for the mental image..... :D
|
Not me the Dr! :D:D
I love that Doctors office. My appt was for 8:15. I arrived at 8:02 singed in, wrote a check, and walked back to the patient room. I left the place at 8:12. I was DONE before my appointment was scheduled. I grew up in Hawaii and for many years ran around with no shirt and no shoes all year. I even went to 1st grade with no shirt, no shoes. Now I pay for all that sun exposure. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1306330950.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1306330963.jpg |
Someone once told me that skin has a good memory.
Meaning that too much sun exposure will often have consequences later on. I need to be careful too, but I do like a nice tan to show after my holidays... |
good morning and happy birthday G. Glad to see that all is fine for now back east.
|
Thanks David.
Can't wait to start opening prensents... :) First I'm going running, then some eating, presents, and then some drinking... :D |
Yea, happy birthday G-man.
The Doc today again reminded me to stay out of the sun. I told him one of my major hobbies is cars and it is hard to play with cars indoors. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1306337016.jpg This is part of my backyard. This was taken last night during the hard rain. The pond was FULL. The crazy fish were eating whatever is is above the normal water line. |
Better build an ark!
|
Fortunatly that is as high as it gets. Last year we had 12 inches of rain in 18 hours. It never got worse than that.
|
that is way to much water. I live on hill and that amount of liquid would worry me.
|
as it is I am looking at options to kill the blackberries on the hill. Goats or humans and chemicals.
|
OK David I am curious, why kill blackberries bushes? The have to have a root system to hold the soil. Are they harmful somehow? I know they are not much fun to try to walk through.
|
Not enough of a root system. One plant many vines and lots of exposed ground between. I need to stunt them back and get a good ground cover going. So I am thinking I'll try the goats, cheaper and more environmentaly friendly.
|
Happy B-Day G-Man
|
it's g-man's b-day?! happy birthday!

So are the blackberries a natural plant on the side of the hills? |
David, one of the trees that is a weed in Oklahoma is the Cedar tree. They will take over a field in a few years. Most folks hate them, and spend money trying to kill them.
|
it is all over here. I can get rid of mine but when the neighbors don't fix theirs it comes right back. I used the weed whacker for two years when we first moved in then gave up. I have a fence in the back yard at the top of the hill and the things are already working their way over this spring. I hacked them back last summer. Time to break out eh goats and them plant some form of ground cover. No cedar trees allowed the other issue is not to block the view of the mountain (don't have these back there).

called the russian girl. she didn't answer, probably at her other bar gig.
I left a message. I probably sounded like a jackass. I hope she calls back before I see her again saturday night at the bar. |
