Same here, if I average my fines over the times I should have gotten one.... speeding gets a lot cheaper that way...

What did you have to pay?? 100 euros??

livi 08-13-2009 12:39 AM

Stijn, its like in any other frat house. You get up in the morning, spill your coffee and greet your room mates. Same thing at boarding schools or in the military. Its simply a Good Morning/Breakfast Club thread. No need for any specific topic or issue. Quite simply...eh ehh.. a spam/postwhore thread. :D

My normal cruising speed is 160 on the clock ( speedo is optimistic, but i try not to go above it, since 160+ = drivers license gone)
It's my first ticket in over a year, so i'll gladly pay the 50 euro's. It equals to less then .05 cts per speeding violation.. that's cheap as piss :D

Rick V 08-13-2009 12:49 AM

my last ticket was for 90mph over the speed limit. That one left a few marks.

svandamme 08-13-2009 01:08 AM

lol, when i first had my 944S, i still lived in Rotterdam, on saturday i'de visit the family...

Kortrijk - Ieper, at 0700 in the morning... empty road, felt like doing a shakedown on the S.

250kph on the clock (probably more like 240 real), i see a car in the distance with some stuff on the roof, i figured, what the hell, and kept going... As i pass i see the blue stripe, a big ass light unit on top, Politie on teh side...

Go/Nogo >> GO goddammit.. they'll never catch me !!

They didn't, they probably weren't awake yet, and blue stripe= city cops not HW.

But all the weekend, whenever the city cops saw me drive in town (Only burgundy Porsche with dutch plates ),
they followed me to my destination... sort of like :
We know what you did, and we want you to know that we know, give is a reason to pull you over :D

The S did run like greased lightening, it's engine was strong as hell (factory replacement at 120k km's, so it was frrrrresh!)

livi 08-13-2009 01:10 AM

Stijn, 160 kph=license gone? What did the sign say? 120?

In good old Sweden, license is gone 30+ max speed.

Didn't you tell them you're a member of PP????
Surely you would've gotten away with a frown and a warning... a slap on the wrist at the most...:D:D

In Belgium you loose your license when you're doing:

MAX Speed +30km/h everywhere but on highways

MAX Speed +40km/h on highways

Stijn will correct me if I'm wrong

svandamme 08-13-2009 01:29 AM

something like that

when i worked in Brussels, about 10 years ago, i had a crappy renault megane 1.8 D... no turbo
that thing was so slow to accelerate, that i avoided slowing down as much as possible...

hence, i got tagged a lot... in those 2 years, i must have had like 6 or 7 tickets for 157 , 158, 159... after the correction that is...
i didn't need a razor in those days... i got close shaves with my car

livi 08-13-2009 01:39 AM

I never had a speeding ticket in my whole life.

What does that say about me? Slow cars or a chicken driver. Or perhaps that I am never in a hurry. Getting up early in the morning with lots of time to spare. :D

Geronimo '74 08-13-2009 02:02 AM

a colleague of mine sorta collects speeding tickets...
Pic out of the company bi-monthly magazine.
1 year collection...

No but I did tell them that I was a little upset that they stopped me, they have no idea how long it took me to get the car up that fast. (old BMW 318)

Or just trade your Porsche for my Mercedes. If you are gonna drive like an old lady, you should have an old lady's car.
