The sooner you guys go metric, the better.

slodave 10-29-2011 07:25 PM

I'm all for metric. My guitar project used metric, imperial fractions and decimals. Talk about confusing!

Talked to the guy I got my Shark Tuner from today. Really weird that the stock chip runs fine, but the PEM dies after a while. He is sending a know good computer with PEM installed to try and see if it is my computer or a sensor or wiring in the car frying the PEM. The PEM is a small circuit board and chip that replaces the ECU chip to allow data logging and reprogramming the ECU functions with a PC connected to the diagnostic port.

I assume you heard about one of the failed Mars rover landings and the JPL metric vs. NASA english units screw up.

Flieger 10-29-2011 08:18 PM

I think most big industries here use metric and do so because they are multinational. I am not sure but I would suspect there are a lot of parts on new Fords that are metric sizes since they sell cars in metric countries.

vas930 10-29-2011 08:20 PM

Well it would make it easy if we all used one system.

HHI944 10-29-2011 08:33 PM

slodave 10-29-2011 10:16 PM

Are you hanging out with any friends these days? You need more distractions, other than walking the beach by yourself.

HHI944 10-29-2011 10:22 PM

Good morning, guys.

Champagne in large amounts have a bad habit of making itself evident the day after. Ouch..

slodave 10-29-2011 11:19 PM

So does anything alcohol. :D Hope you recover quickly.

livi 10-29-2011 11:23 PM

Thanks. In a couple of hours I have to attend a family reunion dinner..

slodave 10-29-2011 11:25 PM

I'm sure there will be alcohol present... That's always good for a hangover. Feed it with more alcohol! :D
