The closest 'good-sized' ski resort from here is 1.5 hours up the road in Sweden. called Åre, they actually held the 97 world alpine championships there.

My wife and I have been looking at places there, everything from condos to cabins without really finding anything that was right for us.

Not exactly luxury and it will need some work but its pretty central and will be a good investment. Best of all: 3 GARAGES!!

We will take a ride up there on saturday and have a look at it.

Looks fine, but loose the red doorhandles in the kitchen... ;)

well, i have been known to go down some white slopes
but must admit my condition is such that i can't be expected to last more then a day, 2 at most.

oh, secondly, i have a track record that's really up there
I have never gone skying, without somebody, in my group getting busted up, as in show stopper.

Now that doesn't mean i did it, but it does mean i have seen several Helicopter , snow cat en skido Evacs due to broken wrists, knees and torn ligaments.

Although i have done some seriously watchable high speed crashes, the kind that draws a crowd, i've never been injured so far. I tend to be very relaxed when i take a snow dive.

Funny, Geranimo, my wife was going on about the red handles in the kitchen too! and the "pink room" in tne basement - what's up with that? my wife gets aggressive on pink. she'd have that room painted before I got the first sofa out of the moving truck!
