Its tricky, you want to brief, but you want to hook them. There is a lot of help if you google it.

Not a photograph of yourself or fancy colour borders

I'm probably not going to be much help as I've not had to write many job applications (one in fact - I've mostly just experienced offers), but I've been on the receiving end often enough and filed many an application into the circular filing cabinet.

I've always though the covering letter to be a letter of introduction and like any into, if it doesn't grab you immediately, their knackered.

Best of luck.

thanks. i did google it and i think i wrote a decent one.

Not friggin happy about the car.....gonna go by tomorrow and ask for his insurance info.....if no love, I'll file a claim with mine and let them go after him....

porsche4life 01-12-2012 05:31 PM

If you need proofreading help D, I think you should have my email...

nynor 01-12-2012 05:54 PM

my wife was tortured with the proofreading. we had an epiphany this evening, the wife and i: st. george, utah would fulfill our goals of getting out of salt lake and somewhere warm.... i've been applying for jobs there for about three hours now. i have another that i will apply for tomorrow. that one needs to be mailed or faxed, so not a big hurry.

vas930 01-12-2012 06:05 PM

Good luck, D.

nynor 01-12-2012 06:11 PM

thanks, vas. the situation at work is simply untenable and has been for some time. plus, we want to get out of the cold.

speaking of moving and warmer weather, where you live looks NICE! too bad there is no such thing as a respiratory therapist in australia.

Weather here is great but don't come live in Alice Springs if you need medical care. The local saying is 'feel a pain, catch a plane'

nynor 01-12-2012 06:22 PM

i looked up alice springs, too. you are smack in the middle of that continent.

Outback Porsche 01-12-2012 06:51 PM

Pretty much in the middle. This is what it looks like from the nearest peak (Mt Gillen)

That doesn't look too different from a park near here...

Found similarities with many places only we have bugger all top soil. It's all eroded away. Here's the other direction (west) from the same point;

Green, lush and perfect weather in the southern parts of Australia.
Great beach/coast with clean water.
We have a small population keeping the enviroment clean.
And plenty of great roads and hot girls.
Plenty of work for you here, D.
Anyone in the medical area is welcome in Australia. :)

In my area, you dont go away for a holiday. ;)

The holiday comes to you?

vas930 01-12-2012 07:19 PM

No trees?

Summer's great down your way Vas, but the winter is too cold for me. I've been north too long. ;)

That was taken around mid morning on a beautiful spring day a few years ago - 'bout 28C I'd recon.
