the "wings are for the killer Magpies that swoop at your head and ears whilst you are riding along minding your own business, have been known to knock riders off their bikes into oncoming traffic, squish, yuk. If you have the panduit straps on your noggin, they can't hit you too hard.

azzarule 02-03-2012 12:27 AM

Jeff what squadrons were you at? I was at 5 for a while, then down to HQSC in Melb, but most of the time in Canberra

slodave 02-03-2012 12:28 AM

Panduit straps? Look like zip-ties to me. :D

Yep isn't she cute, she is called "Miss Daisy"

This is what she looked like before the wash

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1328261425.jpg

Left her like that for a while, after all no rush to wash her, she hadn't had a wash for 30 years, I figured that there was no rush.

azzarule 02-03-2012 01:33 AM

This is a good thing to hear at 4am.

RKDinOKC 02-03-2012 01:43 AM

Stupid cat is keeping me awake. She is standing in the middle of the bathroom yeowling.

Maybe that's what she's been doing at someone else's house for the last 3 days and that's why they let her go. Came back awfully clean for being gon 3 days.

Miss Daisy

Miss Daisy was taken for a ride in April 1981 by the PO, down to the east coast "camping" for a long weekend easter I think, him and the missus. They slept in the car, on the way back they had a fight and she told him to get rid of her and buy a quote "family car" unquote, well he parked her in his garage and went out and bought a family car. and there she sat until 7th June 2011 when me and a friend dragged her poor old sorry arse outa there.

She is complete, nothing missing matching numbers engine gearbox, matching numbers panels, original paint, everything intact and came with a spare 1600 engine, and other misc parts that he had been hoarding to do her up. We have not tried to do anything other than give her a bath and clean out the slightly dusty interior. I have redone her dash which was cracked, and have new upholstery for the front seats because it was cracked as well, will not be replacing the seat pads just upholstery and some additional foam to soften and mould the seats up a bit, Her dash is so lovely, everything shiny. polished up all of the bezels around the guages and they came up a treat.

Yeah she has a few dents etc, but I am going to leave them on her, patina I call it. She is virtually rust free, Canberra is not a very wet place, very low humidity.

She should just need all new brake lines and fuel lines etc, and her brakes were ceased, so some other work required there. But not allowed until I get the 911 finished, there would be a divorce if I started work on her before hubbies car gets back on the road.
