Really hated working with Viewsonic CRTs. Lots of low quality caps and poor build quality. Steer clear of em nowadays. Sounds like their support is also ordinary.

Howdy guys. 50k blew by quickly.

I took the wife to Friday night dinner. She wanted a prime rib so we went to Outback. It is an Down Under eating place. They had a special on Fosters. I had an oil can. It was not that bad. ;)

Ha, I have dinner outback all the time - out in my back yard :D
Sharyn and I went out for Indian last night instead of steak on the barbie.

Snags on the barbie (outback) tonight :D

slodave 02-25-2012 12:38 AM

I actually had good luck with the CRTs. :D This was a LED flat panel.

Jeff, you have a metal detector? You're in prime area for some good gold.

Rick V 02-25-2012 12:40 AM

Are metal detectors legal in Australia?

Morning Dave

slodave 02-25-2012 12:41 AM

As long as you don't use them to speed or kill someone.

Outback Porsche 02-25-2012 12:48 AM

Yeah they're legal here.

Your right Dave, there's a bit of gold in them thar hills. Most of it's alluvial. The hard part is getting it as there's bugger all water to pan it. There's a exibit out at a place called Altunga ('bout 150km west), if I remember right, they dry panned the gold out there. There;s still a working mine out that way somewhere but Altunga pretty much shut up shop in the 1930s.

Here's me cooking outback style

I am itching to get back out there.

Rick V 02-25-2012 12:53 AM

That looks like a blast Jeff

slodave 02-25-2012 12:55 AM

I have seen a lot of videos that show guys down there using a detector over the ancient river beds. They find some big pieces!

slodave 02-25-2012 12:55 AM

Too bad there's no gold where you are, Rick. :D

Rick V 02-25-2012 12:56 AM

We have coal though..........

slodave 02-25-2012 12:57 AM

Wait a little longer and you'll have diamonds too! :D

Rick V 02-25-2012 12:57 AM

I love this time of morning, I get to assemble my league of fuzzy minions to do my bidding. I mean the cats help me wake Beth up. Bwahahahahahahaha

slodave 02-25-2012 12:58 AM

Never mind.

The Dewey diamond, found in 1855 by a man grading one of the streets in Manchester, Chesterfield County, was the largest diamond found in the United States up to 1884. It weighed 23.75 carats in the rough and 11.6875 carats after cutting. The cut stone is a faint greenish white and has a flaw or speck in its interior. It is reported that a "diamond of the first water" was found in 1836 on the Vaucluse Gold Mine Property, Orange County. Another unnamed beautiful "blue white" diamond was reported as found in 1913 near Pounding Mill, Tazewell County. The well- known 34.6 "Punch" Jones diamond was reportedly found in Monroe County, West Virginia, which is just northeast of Rich Creek, Giles County, Virginia. Not one of these was found in its rock matrix; instead, each was found in the unconsolidated overburden.
