It is.
Saw the real deal on tour here two years ago.
Awesome looking car. :)

Lack of centerlock wheels. Rear diffuser's wrong (you can see the donor 911's bumper/license plate). Central air intake over the roof is too square (edges not rounded). No front fender mounted rearview mirrors. Contour around the fender edges not shaped enough (should be almost like little molded spats around the fender edges). Doesn't look like there's enough space (though hard to tell from the angle) between the trailing edge of the doors and the leading edge of the rear wheel wells (to fit that mid-engine). There should be a NACA duct in front of the rear wheels, too (again, maybe the angle). Oh, and the real GT1 has no rear window.

How is the 930 running, Noah ?

Noah930 02-25-2012 04:59 PM

I think the alternator's on the fritz. Every so often the tach bounces wildly. It was a problem before I took it in to get the leaks addressed. I put in a new battery (old one was 7 years old). It was OK for awhile, but then the problem's re-started. The car "runs" fine, but I don't like that bouncing tach.

Flieger 02-25-2012 05:01 PM

That could be a voltage regulator. But on the 930 that is internal to the alternator, right?

Observation here, not a rant.

I live in an area filled with apartments, condos, and townhomes. So lots of people living close to each other and always out and about on the streets. There are numerous people that walk their dogs and often stop to talk while the dogs sniff each others asses. For some reason several of the ladies that walk their dogs stop right in the middle of my driveway. Why??? There are two long stretches of sidewalk to each side of the driveway that they can stand on for as long as they like. But, noooooo..... I don't get it. It's like the Persians that walk down the street, even though there is a perfectly good sidewalk they can use. For some reason, they feel the need to live dangerously. Mostly the older ones.

Lack of consideration for others. Rant away.

Flieger 02-25-2012 05:17 PM

I guess in the Valley it is "get off my driveway!" since the lawns aren't exactly the best in the country.

I suppose, but you'd think they would get the idea after a couple of times. They move as soon as you point the car towards them.

azzarule 02-25-2012 05:25 PM

Understand completely

We went up to Villers Brettoneaux each year for the Anzac Day commemorations, and travelled and stayed in and around the Somme and Piccardy, Ypres whilst we were living in Europe, some of the battlefield are just so stunningly green, the fields are just so fertile from the blood of thousands of young men. Those battlefields have seen the worst of human misery and death. Thousands of young men, I often wonder what the population of Australia would be today if all of those thousands and thousands of young men had not gone to WWI and WWII.

We took our boys with us as well, and they found it so interesting to see the memorials, and the pictures in the small villages of their towns during the wars. Some places were absolutely raised to the ground, but they have been rebuilt, amazing stuff really, the citizens of the area are so friendly towards the Australians, we felt so welcome everywhere we went. Although we had to keep pointing out that we weren't British lol, not much love there for the Brits.

What about fitting a bull bar on the corolla.

Or a set of bull horns like Boss Hog.

slodave 02-25-2012 05:28 PM

I just charge them. You should see the look in their eyes! Just like a deer in headlights.

vas930 02-25-2012 05:35 PM

hehe :D

Lifetime warranty?

Yep, many parts have live time warranties. My brakes, alternator, water pump, starter, and power steering pump all have lifetime free replacement. All I have to do is swap the part.
