As I said, I was a lucky kid. I was a teenager before I ever even met another kid that had only one parent or had a step-parent. I thought every kid knew all 4 of his grandparents.

I'm going to bite my tongue, Glen. This is the only time.

Geronimo '74 03-15-2012 08:12 AM

Glen had a sheltered life.
I still do... :D

If you gotta hole, change your philosophy to fill it.

I have always wanted a crossbow and it was featured on last weeks Top Shot. I grew up shooting bows and hunting birds with them. For some reason, my parents thought a crossbow was more dangerous and would not let me have one. Funny, as I used to carry a rifle in checked luggage to summer camp and back as a kid and owned a couple of bows. Hunting license at age 13.

I still want one. :) I think the .45 will be first, though.

Good work Dave, you're almost there.

Had another great day today with the missus. We went caving, lots of stalag thingies, up down and sideways. Had a big walk along a secluded beach, we were the only people there, surreal and beautiful. Saw some flooded sink holes, the water was amazingly clear. I think I'd like to scuba one day. I've snorkeled but never scuba.

Sounds like a great opportunity for some lovin'.;)

You live in possibly the greatest place on earth to Dive.... Time to get wet man!!!!

I love diving, its a little odd feeling at first, being WAY underwater, breathing through your mouth, but once you get over that, its almost magical. Stuff underwater is damned cool, and I've yet to dive a reef....

Flieger 03-15-2012 01:14 PM

Just don't get The Bends. And HHI will probably tell you don't get the Benz either.

Especially the particular one he just got rid of.

In recreational diving, you've got to be a major dumbass to get bent. Follow your dive tables, don't over do your total bottom time, or under do your surface intervals, and you are fine.

vas930 03-15-2012 01:21 PM

Good morning gents.

Dave, I feel for you mate.
I think this thread has had enough of my nonsense advice, so I will just wish you the best.

Sid, I have done the reef a few times.
You can have a great look with just a snorkel.
The place is huge and the fish are cartoon like.
Another reason to come to Australia. :)

No doubt diving with all the gear would be even better.

porsche4life 03-15-2012 01:41 PM

Yes, getting up close to all the stuff is great, much better than just being topside.....

I'd love to come dive the reef sometime, but its damn pricey to get down there, pay a guide, and rent all the gear. Sid just doesn't have the coin at current....

vas930 03-15-2012 01:51 PM

Pricey to get to Australia, Sid.
Not pricey to get on the reef.
If you have a diving ticket, just jump on one of the boats that go out everyday.
Oh, and the women in that part of the world, Sid, the women.

porsche4life 03-15-2012 01:56 PM

Haha, I know vas...

And I technically don't need a guide, My cert is high enough that I can dive with a buddy and be fine, its just nice to have someone that knows were the good stuff is. :D

I'll get down there one of these days, its on my list....

GH85Carrera 03-15-2012 02:13 PM

I was curious what a rount trip ticket cost from OKC to Sindey round trip 10 day stay. About $2250. per person. I know that is a LONG flight as well.
